Jim Arellanes
James Arellanes (born January 30, 1974) is a former professional American football player who was a quarterback in the NFL Europe League (NFLEL), the Arena Football League (AFL), and the XFL. He played for the Rhein Fire of the NFLEL, the Carolina Cobras and Florida Bobcats of the AFL, and the Orlando Rage of the XFL. Arellanes played collegiately at Los Angeles Valley College before transferring to Fresno State. Professional career Arellanes was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks following the 1997 NFL Draft. After spending training camp with the team, he was released during the preseason on August 16. Later that year, he was signed to the Seahawks' practice squad. Following the 1997 season, Arellanes was allocated to the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe, where he was the back-up to Mike Quinn. Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) is a public community college in Los Angeles, California. It is part of the Los Angeles Community College District. The college is adjacent to Grant High School in the neighborhood of Valley Glen. Frankfurt Galaxy (NFL Europe)
The Frankfurt Galaxy were a professional American football team that originally played in the World League of American Football and later in the resurrected NFL Europe. The team was based in Frankfurt, Germany and played in the Commerzbank-Arena, formerly called Waldstadion. The Galaxy was the only team in the league to have remained in operation and in the same city throughout the league's existence. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. The 1997 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting.
