Jillian Harmon
Jillian Harmon (born 3 March 1987) is an American-New Zealand professional basketball player. Career College After four years of high school basketball for Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon, Harmon then played college basketball for the Stanford Cardinal in Stanford, California, participating in NCAA Division I. During her time at Stanford, Harmon reached the Final Four twice. Stanford statistics Source Europe After her college career, Harmon first signed with Pool Comense for the 2009–10 season of Italy's Serie A1. In 2012, Harmon would make the move to Lavezzini Parma. After a season abroad in Australia and New Zealand, Harmon returned to Italy after signing with Le Mura Lucca. In 2017, Harmon won her first championship with Lucca. 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament For Women
The 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women was a women's basketball tournament that consisted of 12 national teams, where the top five teams earned a place in the 2016 Summer Olympics basketball tournament. It was held from 13 to 19 June 2016. France hosted the tournament in the city of Nantes. Belarus, China, France, Spain and Turkey qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Format The 12 teams were divided into four groups (Groups A–D) for the preliminary round. The top two teams from each group qualified for the knockout round. All four quarterfinal winners advanced to the medal rounds; the four quarterfinal losers played two rounds to allocate the final slot. Clare Bodensteiner
Clare Bodensteiner (born 31 October 1984 in Christchurch) is a New Zealand female basketball player. She played college basketball at Stanford University, and was also a member of the New Zealand women's national basketball team, known as the ''Tall Ferns'', at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Bodensteiner graduated from Stanford University, where she played college basketball for the Stanford Cardinal. She also received an undergraduate degree in psychology, and a master of science degree major in education. She also tried out for the New Zealand national team in 2008, until she was officially elected to play for the Olympics, along with former Stanford teammate Jillian Harmon, shortly after weeks of training. Cayla George (née Francis; born 1 May 1989) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Las Vegas Aces of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was a member of the Australian Women's basketball team (Opals) at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Opals were eliminated after losing to the USA in the quarterfinals. Francis plays for the Melbourne Boomers of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She has also played in several other leagues including the Central Australian Basketball League, SEABL, LFB and WNBL. She has represented South Australia in the National Junior Championships, winning a silver medal in the U18 Championships in 2005. Micaela Cocks (born 2 May 1986) is a professional basketball player from New Zealand. She currently plays for the Townsville Fire in the WNBL. Professional career College Cocks played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks in Eugene, Oregon, participating in NCAA Division I. Suzy Batkovic (born 17 December 1980 in Lambton, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian professional basketball player and politician. Suzy played her junior basketball with the Port Hunter Basketball Club in Newcastle. 2014–15 WNBL Season
The 2014–15 WNBL season was the 35th season of competition since its establishment in 1981. A total of 8 teams contested the league. The regular season was played between 17 October 2014 and 15 February 2015, followed by a post-season involving the top four on 21 February 2015 until 8 March 2015. Broadcast rights were held by free-to-air network ABC. ABC broadcast one game a week, at 1:00PM at every standard time in Australia. Regular hosts are John Casey & Rachael Sporn. Sponsorship included Wattle Valley, entering its second year as league naming rights sponsor. Spalding provided equipment including the official game ball, with Peak supplying team apparel.
