Jill Filipovic
Jill Nicole Filipovic (born August 3, 1983) is an American author and lawyer. Education Originally from the Seattle area, Filipovic attended Shorewood High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and politics and a minor in gender and sexuality studies from New York University. She then earned a Juris Doctor from the New York University School of Law in 2008. Career Filipovic was hired by ''Cosmopolitan'' to write for the cosmopolitan.com blog in April 2014. Prior to that, she was a columnist for ''The Guardian'', and, since 2005, a blogger at ''Feministe'', one of the largest feminist blogs. She has written articles and essays for ''The New York Times'', ''The Washington Post'', ''Time'', and CNN, and has authored two books: ''The H-Spot: The Feminist Pursuit of Happiness'' (2017) and '' OK Boomer, Let's Talk: How My Generation Got Left Behind'' (2020). Netroots Nation
Netroots Nation is a political convention for American progressive political activists. Originally organized by readers and writers of Daily Kos, a liberal political blog, it was previously called YearlyKos and rebranded as Netroots Nation in 2007. The new name to reflects participation of a broader audience of grassroots activists, campaign workers and volunteers, thought leaders, messaging technology innovators and local, state, and national elected officials. The convention offers 3 days of programming: panel discussions on emerging issues in politics and society; training sessions to support more effective activism; keynote addresses from speakers of national stature; an exhibit hall; networking opportunities and social events. Abortion In Honduras
Abortion in Honduras is completely prohibited under any circumstance, and has been constitutionally prohibited since 1982. The country's constitutional prohibition on abortion was further cemented by the country's Congress on January 22, 2021. In order to change this law, a three-quarters majority in the Congress will be required, or 96 out of 128 votes. Like in its neighbors Nicaragua and El Salvador, abortion is prohibited even in cases of rape, even though United Nations experts have found that denial of abortion can constitute torture in certain cases. This is worsened by the fact that Honduras has one of the worst rates of sexual violence. This has been cited as a reason for migration from the country. Dr. Kerryn Lee Goldsworthy (born 14 May 1953) is an Australian freelance writer and former academic. Life and career Goldsworthy has edited four anthologies of Australian writing.
