Jiangjun District
Jiangjun District () is a rural district of about 18,745 residents in Tainan, Taiwan. Its Chinese name translates to "general officer". History After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945, Jiangjun was organized as a rural township of Tainan County. On 25 December 2010, Tainan County was merged with Tainan City and Jiangjun was upgraded to a district of the city. Geography Jiangjun is located on the west coast of Taiwan, and has a harbor and a beach. Its population as of 2016 is 20,286. District (Taiwan)
Districts are administrative subdivisions of the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan)'s special municipality (Taiwan), special municipalities of the second level and provincial city (Taiwan), provincial cities of the third level formerly under its Provinces of China, provinces. There are two types of district in the administrative scheme. Ordinary districts are governed directly by the municipality/city government with district administrators appointed by the mayors to four-year terms. Tainan
Tainan (), officially Tainan City, is a Special municipality (Taiwan), special municipality in southern Taiwan facing the Taiwan Strait on its western coast. Township (Taiwan)
Townships are the third-level administrative subdivisions of counties of the Republic of China (Taiwan), along with county-administered cities. After World War II, the townships were established from the following conversions on the Japanese administrative divisions: Although local laws do not enforce strict standards for classifying them, generally urban townships have a larger population and more business and industry than rural townships, but not to the extent of county-administered cities. Under townships, there is still the village as the fourth or basic level of administration. As of 2022, there are totally 184 townships, including 38 urban townships, 122 rural townships and 24 mountain indigenous townships. 174 townships with 35 urban and 118 rural townships are located in Taiwan Province and 10 townships with 3 urban and 4 rural townships are located in Fujian Province. Tainan County
Tainan County was a county in southern Taiwan between 1945 and 2010. The county seat was in Sinying City. History Tainan County was established on 7 January 1946 on the territory of Tainan Prefecture () shortly after the end of World War II. In the early years, Tainan County consists of most territory of Tainan Prefecture except the territory near cities of Tainan and Kagi (Chiayi). The county is subdivide into districts (), which is reformed from Japanese districts (). The districts are divided into townships. On 16 August 1950, another division reform was implemented. The northern part of the county was separated and established Chiayi County and Yunlin County. Special municipality, historically known as Yuan-controlled municipality is a first-level administrative division unit in the Republic of China (Taiwan). Under the administrative structure of Taiwan, it is the highest level of division in Taiwan and is equivalent to a province. Since the streamlining of provinces in 1998, the special municipalities along with provincial cities and counties have all been directly under the central government. Currently total six cities are designated as special municipalities: Taipei, New Taipei City, Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung, all located in the most densely populated regions in the western half of the island. Fangyuan Museum Of Arts
The FANG-YUAN Art Museum () is an art museum in Xihua Borough, Jiangjun District, Tainan, Taiwan. History The museum building was originally constructed in 1944 as the Suisheng Clinic of Huang Ching-wu, the former head of township in the area. In 2008, the building was purchased by an entrepreneur Lin Chen-feng. He then rebuilt it to be a museum of fine arts. Architecture The building is a mixture of Taiwanese and Western architectural styles featuring the 4-section compound with corridors and arched winding cloisters. The front section of the building was constructed with Western architectural style and the back section is connected to Sanheyuan. Exhibitions The museums displays pottery and porcelain which are commonly used in the early days of Taiwan.
