Urabá Antioquia is a subregion in the Colombian Department of Antioquia that consists of two enclaves, one forming the northwest corner of the department the other, the west, both are along the Atrato River and are separated by the El Carmen del Darién and Riosucio municipalities of the Chocó Department with territories in both municipalities in dispute with Chocó. The 2016 Categoría Primera B season (officially known as the 2016 Torneo Águila season for sponsorship reasons) was the 27th season since its founding. Format The league retained the format used in the most recent season. The tournament was played in a year-round competition with the 16 teams playing the other teams twice on a home-and-away basis and playing a regional rival twice more for a total of 32 matches. The top eight teams after the thirty-two rounds advanced to the Semifinal round where the eight teams were sorted into two groups of four and played a double Round-robin tournament group stage. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. Format The season consisted of two tournaments: the 'Torneo Apertura' and the 'Torneo Finalización'. The Apertura tournament will be divided into three stages. The First Stage will be contested on a home-and-away basis, with each team playing the other teams once and playing a regional rival once more. Categoría Primera B, commonly referred to as Torneo BetPlay Dimayor due to sponsorship by online betting company BetPlay (formerly ''Torneo Águila''), is the second-division football league in Colombia. Format DIMAYOR has applied a new format from 2015 onwards because of the expansion to 20 teams in the Primera A tournament. The league will no longer have Apertura and Finalización seasons but rather a yearlong tournament with home and away games. The first phase of the tournament is everyone against everyone home and away games. The second is a two-groups phase with the 8 top teams from the season who play each other to determine the winners of each group. The winners of the two groups are both promoted to the Primera A and play the final in home and away games to determine the champion of the season.
