''Jhalki'' () is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Brahmanand S. Siingh, produced by Brahmanand S. Siingh (Mobius Films) and Annand Chavan (OMG), co-produced by Vinayak Gawande and Jayesh Parekh and co-directed by Tanvi Jain. The film featuring Boman Irani, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Divya Dutta and Sanjay Suri, follows a 9-year-old street girl Jhalki, setting out to find her 7-year-old brother against the backdrop of the child slavery trade. The trailer of the film was released at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2019. The film has been premiered at various national and international film festivals and won 16 awards so far. Brahmanand S Siingh
Brahmanand S. Siingh (born 3 May 1965) is a filmmaker and author from Mumbai, India. He is best known for the films ''Kaagaz Ki Kashti'', a biopic on Jagjit Singh and his feature-length documentary on R. D. Burman, ''Pancham Unmixed: Mujhe Chalte Jaana Hai''. Early life and education Brahmanand S Siingh grew up in Purnia, Bihar. Later he moved to St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, St Xavier's College Ranchi and eventually to University of Calcutta, Kolkata University for his English Literature Masters. His journeys into cinema, however, started within a year of his moving to Mumbai in 1993. Career Brahmanand began writing about art and cinema in the 1980s, publishing articles in publications like The Daily Telegraph, ''The Telegraph'', The Statesman (India), ''Statesman'', The Times of India, ''Times of India'', ''The Hindu'', The Indian Express, ''Indian Express'', and ''The Independent''.
