Judaism
Judaism ( he, ''Yahăḏūṯ'') is an Abrahamic, monotheistic, and ethnic religion comprising the collective religious, cultural, and legal tradition and civilization of the Jewish people. Dave Metchick
David John Metchick (born 14 August 1943) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder in England and the United States. In England, he played in the Football League for Leyton Orient, Brentford, Fulham, Peterborough United and Queens Park Rangers and in the United States he played in the North American Soccer League for Atlanta Apollos and Miami Gatos. He was capped by England at youth level. Club career After beginning his career as an apprentice with Football League club Fulham, Metchick turned professional in 1961 and made 47 league appearances and scored 9 goals for the club. He later played for Leyton Orient, Peterborough United, Queens Park Rangers. Metchick played for North American Soccer League club Atlanta Chiefs in 1970 and returned to England to play with the reserve team at First Division club Arsenal during the 1970–71 season. Gyula Bíró
Gyula Bíró (10 May 1890 – 14 June 1951) was a Hungarian Olympic football player and manager of Jewish heritage. Playing career Club career Bíró spent his career as player playing for MTK Hungária FC, where he made first team debut in 1905 as the age of 15 as midfielder. Later he also played as forward. He retired from football as player at the age of 26 after playing 135 games in the Hungarian League and scoring 17 goals. International career As part of Hungary, Bíró completed at 1912 Olympics. Coaching career He started his coaching career with 1. FC Nürnberg in 1920, before moving to Poland in 1923, where he coached Hasmonea Lwów and later the Olympic national team in 1924. József Eisenhoffer
József Eisenhoffer (8 November 1900 – 13 February 1945), also known as József Aczél, was a Hungarian footballer. He could play equally well as an inside or outside left as well as left half. Eisenhoffer played professionally in Hungary, Austria, France and the United States. He also managed Olympique de Marseille for six seasons and earned eight caps with the Hungarian national team. He was a member of the 1924 Hungarian Olympic football team. Club career Eisenhoffer was born in Budapest, Hungary. A convert to Judaism, began his football career when he signed with Budapest TC in 1912. He was twelve at the time. In 1917, he moved to Kispest A.C. where he played three seasons. Julius Hirsch
Julius Hirsch (7 April 1892 – declared dead 8 May 1945) was a Jewish German Olympian international footballer who was murdered by the Nazis in Auschwitz concentration camp during the Holocaust. He helped Karlsruher FV win the 1910 German football championship. He played for the Germany national football team, including at the 1912 Summer Olympics. He then joined SpVgg Fürth, with whom he won the 1914 German football championship. Gottfried Fuchs
Gottfried Erik Fuchs (also Godfrey Fuchs; (3 May 1889 – 25 February 1972) was a German Olympic footballer. He scored a then-world record 10 goals for the Germany national football team in a 16–0 win against Russia at the 1912 Olympics. He left Germany to escape the Holocaust, as he was Jewish, and ultimately emigrated to Canada. Biography A German Jew, he was exiled and fled Nazi Germany in 1937 because of the Holocaust and emigrated first to England and then in 1940 to Canada. His older brother was composer and architect Richard Fuchs. Fuchs debuted for the German national football team at the age of 18. Rudy Haddad ( he, רודי חדד; born 5 February 1985) is a former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Career Haddad is Jewish, and was born in Paris and raised in France to a family of Tunisian Jewish descent. He is a previously highly touted young player, having come up through the youth system at Paris Saint-Germain. On 21 January 2009, he was loaned out to Valenciennes FC. He was unable to hold down a regular first team place at Paris Saint-Germain. He has been noted as a player of some promise but the presence of Portuguese goalscorer Pauleta restricted his first team opportunities. He signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv in July 2007.
