Jesús Zambrano Grijalva
Jesús Zambrano Grijalva (born 1 October 1953) is a Mexican politician who served as President of the Party of the Democratic Revolution from 2011 to 2014. He also served as Deputy of the LVI and LXI Legislatures of the Mexican Congress, both times representing Sonora, and in the LXIII Legislature representing the Federal District. Life Zambrano Grijalva was born on 1 October 1953 in Empalme, Sonora. He studied for a degree in physics and mathematics from the Universidad de Sonora, which was not completed, and later obtained a degree in law from the Open University. Meanwhile, he surged through the ranks of various left-wing groups. He also was a member of the and the Liga Comunista 23 de Septiembre. His activism with the communist league resulted in a prison stay in 1974 and 1975. He also earned the nickname ''El Tragabalas'' (The Bullet-Swallower) during this time. Empalme, Sonora
Empalme is a city surrounded by a municipality located on the south-central coast of the Mexican state of Sonora. According to the 2005 census the population of the city was 40,630 inhabitants, while the municipality, which has an area of 708.53 km² (273.56 sq mi), reported 50,663 inhabitants. Except for its coastline on the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortes), the municipality is entirely surrounded by the much larger municipality of Guaymas. In Spanish, the word ''empalme'' means "junction". At first, the community site was called ''Kilómetro Nueve'' because it was nine kilometers out of the port city of Guaymas. Then for a while it was called ''El Empalme'' meaning ''the junction''. The ''El'' was soon dropped. Unlike other towns or cities in Mexico, Empalme was built completely by foreigners, specifically the Utah Construction Company under contract to the Southern Pacific Railroad Company. Andrés Manuel López Obrador (; born 13 November 1953), also known by his initials AMLO, is a Mexican politician who has been serving as the 65th president of Mexico since 1 December 2018. He previously served as Head of Government of Mexico City from 2000 to 2005. Born in Tepetitán, in the municipality of Macuspana, in the south-eastern state of Tabasco, López Obrador earned a degree in political science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico following a hiatus from his studies to participate in politics.
