Jessie Vetter
Jessica Ann "Jessie" Vetter (born December 19, 1985) is an American ice hockey player and a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was also a member of the 2008–09 Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey team, which won an NCAA title. She was drafted 20th overall by the Boston Blades in the 2011 CWHL Draft. Playing career Vetter played as a goaltender on the boys' ice hockey team at Monona Grove High School and won three state girls' soccer championships. While in high school, she was a four-time all-conference selection and a three-time all-state pick in soccer. Wisconsin Badgers In her four-year NCAA career, Vetter won an NCAA record 91 games (since broken by Hillary Pattenden) during her four-year career and posted an NCAA-record 39 career shutouts. In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the ''Ice hockey rink#Crease, goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). 2007 Women's World Ice Hockey Championships
The 2007 IIHF Women's World Championships were held from April 3 to 10, 2007 in Winnipeg and Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. There were no championships in 2006 due to the Torino Olympic tournament. Games were played at the MTS Centre and Selkirk Recreation Complex. It was the tenth event, and it was run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Canada, led by tournament MVP Hayley Wickenheiser, won its ninth world championship by defeating the USA 5–1 in the gold medal game. Following Sweden's historic Silver in the Olympics they captured their second world championship Bronze, blanking rival Finland 1–0. Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej
Jinelle Lynn Zaugg-Siergiej (born March 27, 1986) is an American retired ice hockey player and former member of the United States national team, currently serving as associate head coach to the St. Cloud State Huskies women's ice hockey team. She was a member of the 2009–10 United States national women's ice hockey team and won a silver medal in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Zaugg played college ice hockey with the Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey program and won the NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Tournament title with the team in 2006 and 2007. NCAA Women's Frozen Four
The annual NCAA women's ice hockey tournament—officially known as the National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Championship—is a college ice hockey tournament held in the United States by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the top women's team in the NCAA. Mike Richter
Michael Thomas Richter (born September 22, 1966) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played his entire career with the New York Rangers organization, and led the team to the Stanley Cup in 1994. He also represented the United States in international play on several occasions. Richter was named to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, alongside his former Rangers and U.S. teammate Brian Leetch, in 2008. Ann-Renée Desbiens (born April 10, 1994) is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender for the Montreal chapter of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and member of the Canada women's national ice hockey team. She participated at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship, the 2018 Winter Olympics., the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship, the 2022 Winter Olympics, and the 2022 IIHF Women's World Championship. Hillary Pattenden
Hillary Pattenden (born December 27, 1990) is a Canadian former ice hockey goaltender who played with the Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey program from 2008 to 2012. She held the NCAA Division I goaltender all-time most career wins title for 415 days, beginning on December 14, 2011, when she broke Jessie Vetter’s record of 91 wins until her own 100-win record was broken by Minnesota‘s Noora Räty on February 1, 2013 (Räty‘s 114 career win record was later broken by BC‘s Kaitie Burton on January 27, 2018). Monona Grove High School (MGHS) is a school in Monona, Wisconsin, United States. Mitchal McGrath is the principal. Boston Blades
The Worcester Blades were a professional women's ice hockey team in the Canadian Women's Hockey League, based in Worcester, Massachusetts, and played their home games at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center. The team began play in the 2010–11 CWHL season as the Boston Blades where they won the Clarkson Cup twice, in 2013 and 2015.
