Jessie Rodriguez
Jessie Rodriguez (born July 5, 1977) is a Salvadoran American immigrant and Republican politician. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 21st Assembly district–southeastern Milwaukee County. Currently, she represents the cities of Oak Creek, Franklin, and South Milwaukee. She is the first Hispanic immigrant elected to the Wisconsin Legislature. Early life and education Born in El Salvador, Rodriguez moved to the United States in 1984 with her family, eventually settling in Milwaukee. She graduated from Milwaukee's Alexander Hamilton High School in 1996 and went on to attend Milwaukee's Marquette University where she earned her bachelor's degree in communications. After graduating college in 2002, Jessie worked as an analyst for a large supermarket chain, but eventually landed a job as a communications outreach coordinator for Hispanics for School Choice. Wisconsin's 21st Assembly District
The 21st Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district covers the southeast corner of Milwaukee County, including all of the suburban cities of Oak Creek and South Milwaukee, as well as a few blocks of the neighboring city of Franklin. The district is represented by Republican Jessie Rodriguez, since winning a special election in November 2013. Alexander Hamilton High School (Milwaukee)
Alexander Hamilton High School (also known as Milwaukee Hamilton) is a public high school located at 6215 West Warnimont Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Milwaukee's far southwest side. Named after the first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton, the building was opened in February 1966, with about 450 second-semester sophomores from Pulaski High School. During the 2012–2013 school year enrollment was about 1700. Academics Hamilton has five programs leading to career, college, or armed forces readiness: Business and Finance, Communications Technology, Medical and Laboratory Sciences, JROTC, and Honors/Advanced Placement. Wisconsin Elections Commission
The Wisconsin Elections Commission is a bipartisan regulatory agency of the State of Wisconsin established to administer and enforce election laws in the state. The Wisconsin Elections Commission was established by a 2015 act of the Wisconsin Legislature which also established the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to administer campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying laws. The two commissions began operation on June 30, 2016, replacing the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB), which was abolished. The Government Accountability Board had been established in 2008 to replace the Wisconsin Elections Board and Wisconsin Ethics Board. The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (G.A.B.) was a regulatory agency for the State of Wisconsin which administered and enforced Wisconsin law pertaining to campaign finance, elections, ethics and lobbying. The agency was re-organized, over the opposition of many Democratic legislators, into two separate agencies (Ethics and Elections Commissions) following several controversies.
