Jessie Evans (basketball)
Jessie Evans (born October 24, 1950) is the former head men's basketball coach at the University of San Francisco. He was replaced by Eddie Sutton on December 26, 2007. He previously held the same position at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He was Lute Olson’s chief recruiter at Arizona. He recruited almost 20 future NBA players in his 10 years at Arizona, including most of the 1997 National Championship Team. Following winning the National Title at Arizona, Evans accepted the head coaching job at Louisiana Lafayette.He left ULL for the University of San Francisco head coaching job after the 2003-2004 season. In 2012, Evans was hired as an assistant men's basketball coach at Southeast Missouri State University, where he served for two seasons. Jessie Evans is an American born songwriter, singer, saxophonist, and record producer currently residing in Brazil. On stage, while based out of Berlin, she was often accompanied by Iggy Pop's drummer, Toby Dammit. Her first solo album ''Is it fire?'' was released on her label 'Fantomette Records' in November 2009. The sessions were recorded with drummer Budgie of bands Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Creatures. In 2011, in Berlin, a video collaboration for Black Sand –song from her first album– was released. Among the participants were renowned artists Toby Dammit, King Khan from King Khan and the Shrines and Namosh. The video was directed by Evans and Azul Violeta Bermejo. Jesse Evans (c. 1853 — unknown; disappeared 1882) was an American outlaw and gunman of the Old West, and leader of the Jesse Evans Gang. He received some attention due to his disappearance in 1882, after which he was never seen or heard from again, and is now presumably deceased. Early outlaw life Jesse J. Evans was believed to have been born around 1853 in Missouri, although some historians believe he was born in Texas. He was half-Cherokee, and a graduate of Washington and Lee College in Virginia. He was arrested with both his parents on June 26, 1871, in Elk City, Kansas, for passing counterfeit money. He was released shortly thereafter, and by 1872 he was in the New Mexico Territory. Evans began working as a cowboy, employed by several ranches, including that of John Chisum. After he ended his employment with Chisum, Evans ventured to both Las Cruces and La Mesilla, New Mexico, where he became associated with John Kinney.
