Jesse Palter is an American singer-songwriter and recording artist. Palter's work ranges from pop to jazz. She released her debut album, ''Paper Trail'', on Mack Avenue Music Group July 19, 2019. Early life and education Palter was born in Detroit, Michigan to a musical family, and raised in the suburb of West Bloomfield. Palter began performing in musical theater at age 5 and in jazz band during high school where she played the trumpet and oboe. Palter attended a middle school that specialized in the performing arts, where she began to write music. Palter attended The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as a Jazz & Contemplative Studies Major. ''All About Jazz'' is a website established by Michael Ricci in 1995. A volunteer staff publishes news, album reviews, articles, videos, and listings of concerts and other events having to do with jazz. Ricci maintains a related site, ''Jazz Near You'', about local concerts and events. The Jazz Journalists Association voted ''All About Jazz'' Best Website Covering Jazz for thirteen consecutive years between 2003 and 2015, when the category was retired. The Detroit Music Awards Foundation is a Michigan 501(c)(3) organization, whose mission is to recognize Detroit area musicians working on a national, regional, and local level.
