Jesse D. Smith
Jesse D. Smith (born 20 February 1986) is a former professional Australian rules footballer, playing for Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League. Originally from Rupertswood, Smith was drafted in the 2004 rookie draft and made his senior debut in Round 20, 2006 against Richmond Football Club. Smith played mainly in the midfield when with Carlton's , the Northern Bullants. He was delisted at the end of 2006 after only two games. Rupertswood
Rupertswood is a mansion and country estate located in Sunbury, 50km north-northwest of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. It is well known as the birthplace of The Ashes urn which was humorously presented to English cricket captain Ivo Bligh to mark his team's victory in an 1882-83 Test match series between Australia and England. Rupertswood is one of the largest houses constructed in Victoria and, although now subdivided, has significant farm land. The estate also had its own private railway station (until closure in 2004), and artillery battery. It is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. The foundation stone for Rupertswood was laid on 29 August 1874 with around 1,000 people in attendance. The house was the country seat completed in 1876 for Sir William Clarke a land owner and pastoralist who was one of Australia's wealthiest men and the first Australian-born baronet. The Ballarat Football League (BFL) is an Australian rules football competition that operates in the Ballarat region of Victoria, Australia. The competition formed in 1893 as the Ballarat Football Association and was renamed Ballarat Football League in 1908 and was briefly known as the Ballarat-Wimmera Football League between 1934 and 1936. Andrew Welsh (footballer)
Andrew Welsh (born 11 February 1983) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He was selected by with the 47th selection in the 2001 AFL draft. He was a backline player who played halfback or back pocket for much of his career. However, later in his career he developed his game to play as a tagging-defensive midfielder. He was a very quick player and runs off half back very well. A knee injury in 2005 sidetracked his career a little, but made a strong comeback in defence during 2006. In 2007 and 2008 his role changed, and he played primarily as a defensive forward and defensive midfielder respectively. In October 2011, Welsh retired from Essendon Football Club due to several injury setbacks after playing 162 games with the club. He then moved to the United States to attempt to become an actor.
