Jerry Wald (musician)
Jerome Irving Wald (September 16, 1911 – July 13, 1962) was an American screenwriter and a producer of films and radio programs. Life and career Early life Born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York, he had a brother and sons who were active in show business. He attended James Madison High School. He began writing a radio column for the ''New York Evening Graphic'', while studying journalism at New York University. This led to him producing several ''Rambling 'Round Radio Row'' featurettes for Vitaphone, Warner Brothers' short subject division (1932–33). Screenwriter Wald's first feature credit was for the Warners movie ''Twenty Million Sweethearts'' (1934); he provided the story along with Paul Finder Moss at Warners. Wald provided the story (along with Philip Epstein) for Universal's '' Gift of Gab'' (1934). Wald then signed with Warners where would be based for many years. John Wayne

Hubert Prior Vallée (July 28, 1901 – July 3, 1986), known professionally as Rudy Vallée, was an American singer, musician, actor, and radio host. He was one of the first modern pop stars of the teen idol type. Early life Hubert Prior Vallée was born in Island Pond, Vermont, United States, on July 28, 1901, the son of Catherine Lynch and Charles Alphonse Vallée. His maternal grandparents were English and Irish, while his paternal grandparents were French-Canadians from Quebec. Vallée grew up in Westbrook, Maine. On March 29, 1917, he enlisted to fight in World War I, but was discharged when U.S. Navy authorities discovered he was only 15 years old. He had enlisted in Portland, Maine, under the false birth date of July 28, 1899. Warren Duff (May 17, 1904 – August 5, 1973) was a film and television writer and producer. As a writer, Duff wrote for films including, ''Fashions of 1934'', ''Angels with Dirty Faces'' (1938), ''Experiment Perilous'' (1944), '' Step Lively'' (1944), ''Chicago Deadline'' (1949), ''Appointment with Danger'' (1951) and '' The Turning Point'' (1952). Biography Born Siegfried Maurice Herzig in New York City, Herzig began his career as the director of the comedy short ''Husband and Strife'' (1922), but he switched gears to create plot lines for more than three dozen silent films.
