Jerry Nyman
Gerald Smith Nyman (born November 23, 1942 in Logan, Utah) is a former left-handed Major League Baseball pitcher who played from 1968 to 1970 for the Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres. He attended Brigham Young University. Playing Career Signed as an undrafted free-agent by the White Sox in 1965, Nyman began his professional career that year with the Sarasota Sun Sox. With them, he went 16–11 with a 2.81 ERA in 30 games. In 192 innings pitched, he walked 137 batters. He split the 1966 season between the Deerfield Beach/Winter Haven Sun Sox, Fox Cities Foxes and Lynchburg White Sox, going a combined 6–11 with a 2.46 ERA in 20 games. In 1967, he played for the Evansville White Sox, going 7–4 with a 2.74 ERA in seven games. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Salt Lake City Bees was a primary moniker of the minor league baseball teams, based in Salt Lake City, Utah between 1911 and 1970 under various names. After minor league baseball first began in Salt Lake City in 1900, the Bees were long-time members of both the Pacific Coast League and Pioneer League. Welland Pirates
The Welland Pirates were a minor league baseball team located in Welland, Ontario. The team played in the Short-Season A classification New York–Penn League from 1989 to 1994, and were affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Their home stadium was Welland Stadium. Eugene Emeralds
The Eugene Emeralds (nicknamed the Ems) are a Minor League Baseball team in the northwest United States, based in Eugene, Oregon. The Emeralds are members of the Northwest League and are affiliated with the San Francisco Giants. Eugene plays their home games at PK Park. History Founded in 1955 as a charter member of the Northwest League, the Emeralds were named in a contest, won in January by 11-year-old Bowen Blair. They won the inaugural pennant as an independent, and remained in the NWL for fourteen seasons, through 1968. The Emeralds were the first minor-league team to play in Eugene since the disbanding of the Eugene Larks, who played at Bethel Park for just two seasons, 1950 and 1951. Several minor league baseball teams have been based in Salinas, California and played in the California League. Salinas Spurs The Salinas Spurs were a California League team that played from 1982 to 1987 and again from 1989 to 1992. Located in Salinas, California, they were affiliated with the Chicago Cubs from 1982 to 1983, the Seattle Mariners from 1984 to 1987, and in 1989 they had a partial working agreement with the San Francisco Giants. That season, they had seven Japanese players play for them. They did not play as the Salinas Spurs in 1988, because they moved to Riverside, California to become the Riverside Red Wave. Burlington Bees
The Burlington Bees are a collegiate summer baseball team of the Prospect League. They are located in Burlington, Iowa, and have played their home games at Community Field since 1947. Founded in 1889, the Bees played in Minor League Baseball's Midwest League from 1962 to 2020. The Idaho Falls Chukars are an independent baseball team of the Pioneer League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB) but is an MLB Partner League. They are located in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and play their home games at Melaleuca Field.
