Jerry Kenneth Martin (born August 18, 1950) is an American former ski jumper. He competed in the normal hill and large hill at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics and placed 27th–36th. In September 1971, Martin lost the right eye in an accident. Yet he won the national ski jumping title in 1971, 1973, and 1975, and competed at the 1970 and 1974 world championships. Jerry Martin is an American composer, best known for his work composing music (particularly jazz) for television commercials, and being the lead composer for several games in ''The Sims'' franchise, including '' SimCity 3000'', ''The Sims'', ''The Sims Bustin' Out'', ''The Sims 2'' and ''SimCity 4''. Early life and education Martin began taking music lessons at the age of 10 and played guitar and keyboards in various ensembles through his high school and college education. The Kingdom Heirs Quartet is a Southern gospel quartet based at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. History The Kingdom Heirs formed in 1971 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Original members included Patty Wilson (alto), Jim Bluford (tenor), Gene McKinney (lead), Raymond Parker (bass), and a 13-year-old Gary Bilyeu (piano). Gary Arnold was added on bass guitar and 13-year-old drummer Jim Ford came close behind with Tom Bailey on Rhythm. The name ''Kingdom Heirs'' was chosen by the group from James 2:5. After they began expanding their singing beyond local churches, Wilson, Parker, and Arnold left the group for various reasons, and Steve Gouge replaced Arnold on bass guitar in July 1971. Mike Shuemaker joined to sing baritone in August of that same year.
