Jerry Johnson (born November 23, 1942) is an American politician who served as a member of the Nebraska Legislature from the 23rd district. Johnson was previously the mayor of Wahoo. Johnson was born in Holdrege, Nebraska. He attended Luther Junior College. Elections *2012 When Senator Chris Langemeier retired and left the District 23 seat open, Johnson placed first in the May 15, 2012 Primary election with 3,323 votes, and won the November 6, 2012 General election with 8,032 votes against Vern Barrett, who had previously run for the seat in 2008. Personal life He was born in Schuyler, Nebraska and graduated from Schuyler Central High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Bruce Lee Bostelman (born July 20, 1962) is an American politician who has served in the Nebraska Legislature from the 23rd district since 2017. Early life Bostelman was born in Superior, Nebraska, in 1962, to Dwayne Bostelman and Avis Pingel and was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Superior High School in 1980. After high school, Bostelman joined the United States Air Force and served as a security specialist through 1984, and then as a paralegal from 1985 to 2000. He received an associate's degree in paralegal science from the Community College of the Air Force and a Bachelor of Science in business management from Bellevue University in 2002. Holdrege is a city in Phelps County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 5,495 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Phelps County. The Nebraska Prairie Museum is located in Holdrege. History Holdrege was established in 1883 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named for George W. Holdrege, a railroad official. Holdrege was designated county seat in 1884. Holdrege was settled primarily by immigrants from Sweden in the 1880s and was named after George W. Holdrege, general manager of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad Company. He constructed most of the line's mileage in Nebraska, including a section through this small settlement in Phelps County.
