Jerome Cunningham
Jerome Cunningham (born May 25, 1991) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at Southern Connecticut State. Professional career After going undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft, Cunningham was invited to the Indianapolis Colts' minicamp, but he did not receive a contract offer and spent the 2013 season out of football. New York Giants On August 5, 2014, Cunningham was signed by the New York Giants. On August 26, 2014, he was waived. On September 3, 2014, Cunningham was added to the Giants' practice squad. Cunningham spent the first 15 weeks of the 2014 regular season on the practice squad. On December 17, 2014, Cunningham was promoted to the active roster for the last two games of the regular season. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic.
