Jermaine Wattimena
Jermaine Wattimena (born 9 March 1988) is a Dutch darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. Career Wattimena won the first event he entered as he claimed the 2008 Malta Open by beating Vincent Busuttil in the final. He made his British Darts Organisation debut in a major event at the World Masters and won four games to reach the last 24 where he lost 3–0 to Steve Douglas. In 2014, Wattimena won the German Gold Cup courtesy of defeating Jan Dekker 3–2 in the final. Later in the year he qualified for the 2015 PDC World Championship by winning the Central European Qualifier, concluding with a 6–3 victory over Kenny Neyens. Wattimena entered the event in the preliminary round and narrowly lost 4–3 to Robert Marijanović, missing three match darts in the final leg. Westervoort
Westervoort () is a municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands. The town has two rivers inside its borders, the Rhine and the IJssel. It is a commuter town closely linked to Arnhem, the capital of Gelderland, which is situated on the west bank of the IJssel river, the east bank being occupied by Westervoort. 2019 European Championship (darts)
The 2019 Unibet European Championship was the twelfth edition of the Professional Darts Corporation's European Championship tournament, which saw the top players from the thirteen European tour events compete against each other. The tournament took place from 24–27 October 2019 at the Lokhalle in Göttingen, Germany. James Wade was the defending champion, after beating Simon Whitlock 11–8 in the 2018 final. However, he was beaten 6–0 by Jonny Clayton in the first round. Clayton posted the 6th highest average in the tournament's history in the process. Rob Cross won his third major title with an 11–6 win over Gerwyn Price in the final. 2015 PDC World Darts Championship
The 2015 William Hill World Darts Championship was the 22nd World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event was held at the Alexandra Palace, London between 18 December 2014 and 4 January 2015. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion, having won his first World Championship title in 2014, but he lost 6–3 to Gary Anderson in the semi-finals. Anderson won the title by beating 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor 7–6 in the final. Taylor became the first player in PDC World Championship history to reach the PDC World Champsionship final, achieve a tournament 3-dart average of over 100, and yet not win the title. Jan Dekker
Jan Dekker (born 25 June 1990) is a former Dutch professional darts player. He twice reached the semi-finals of the BDO World Darts Championship, in 2011 and 2014. Career Dekker qualified for the televised stages of the 2010 Winmau World Masters. He played eventual champion Martin Adams in the last 16, and was beaten 2–3 after Adams won a sudden-death leg. He also qualified for the 2011 BDO World Darts Championship. He defeated 15th seed Scott Mitchell 3–0 in the first round, and 2nd seed Stuart Kellett 4–1 in the second round. He then beat tenth seed Garry Thompson 5–4 in the quarter-finals, having trailed 3–0 and 4–2 and seeing Thompson miss nine darts at doubles to win the match himself. Steve Douglas (darts Player)
Stephen "Steve" Douglas (born 17 November 1977 from Bromley, London) is a former English professional darts player. His nickname was The Game. Career Douglas won the 1995 WDF Europe Youth Cup, and made his BDO World Darts Championship debut in 2000. He defeated Gary Spedding in the first round before losing to eventual champion Ted Hankey in the second round. Douglas returned to the BDO World Championship stage in 2011, losing 0-3 in the first round to Gary Robson. He has also appeared in the Last 16 of the World Masters in 2009 and again in 2011. Douglas qualified for the World Championship again in 2012, and again was drawn against Robson in the first round. On this occasion, Douglas defeated Robson 3-0. British Darts Organisation
The British Darts Organisation (BDO) was a darts organisation founded on 7 January 1973 by Olly Croft. Made up of 66 member counties, it oversaw professional, semi-professional and amateur darts competitions in Britain. The BDO was a founder member of the World Darts Federation in 1976. It also staged a BDO World Darts Championship, World Professional Darts Championship from 1978 to 2020. In the early 1990s, a dispute between Olly Croft and the top darts players over the decline in TV coverage and sponsorship led to an acrimonious Split in darts, split in the game, with the players breaking away to form their own governing body which became the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation in the United Kingdom, established in 1992 when a group of leading players split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to form what was initially called the World Darts Council (WDC). Sports promoter Eddie Hearn is the PDC chairman. The 2014 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Professional Dart Players Association Players Championships, UK Open Qualifiers, and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. This year there were 34 PDC Pro Tour events held – 20 Players Championships, 6 UK Open Qualifiers, and 8 European Tour events.
