Jeremy Parquet
Jeremy Michael Parquet (born April 11, 1982) is a former professional gridiron football player. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Southern Mississippi. Parquet has been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, Las Vegas Locomotives and the Edmonton Eskimos. He earned a Super Bowl ring with the Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII over the Arizona Cardinals. High school career Parquet was a two time All State and All District offensive tackle in high school at Destrehan High School. College career Parquet played college football at Southern Mississippi where he played in 44 games starting 39 of them. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach.
