Jeremy Marshall
Cold is an American rock band, from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1986 by lead singer and rhythm guitarist Scooter Ward, drummer Sam McCandless, bassist Jeremy Marshall and lead guitarist Matt Loughran. The band has gone through numerous lineup changes during its existence, with Ward being the band’s only constant member. After signing to Flip Records/A&M Records, Cold released their debut album ''Cold'' (1998), which sold poorly due to the closure of A&M shortly after its release, resulting in the band moving to Geffen Records. Cold found mainstream success with ''13 Ways to Bleed on Stage'' (2000) and its follow-up '' Year of the Spider'' (2003), which saw the band incorporate influences of post-grunge and alternative rock into their sound; both albums were certified Gold by the RIAA, with the latter reaching number three on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart and producing the band's only single to chart on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, " Stupid Girl". Neptune Beach is a beachfront city east of Jacksonville in Duval County, Florida, United States. When the majority of Duval County communities consolidated with Jacksonville in 1968, Neptune Beach, along with Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach and Baldwin remained quasi-independent. ''The Things We Can't Stop'' is the sixth album by American rock band Cold. It was released on September 13, 2019 in the US through Napalm Records. The album was produced by Jeremy Parker, who produced the previous album. This is Cold's first album since 2011's ''Superfiction''. This is Cold's only album to include guitarist Nick Coyle and first to feature bassist Lindsay Manfredi and their first album not to include bass player Jeremy Marshall and the only album to not feature drummer Sam McCandless. Aaron Fulton was credited as the drummer. The first single "Shine" was released on June 27, 2019, along with an accompanying lyric video on the same date. ''Superfiction'' is the fifth album by American rock band Cold. It was released on July 19, 2011 in the US and in the UK. This is Cold's first album since their reunion and six years since their previous release. Two singles were released; "Wicked World" and "American Dream". Background While touring the band announced that at every show they would be recording their new song "Snowblind" and that the best performance would be included as a hidden track on the new album, this however turned out to be untrue as the retail versions only contain the original twelve songs proposed for the release. "The Crossroads" was originally titled "My Religion" during Cold's live shows before the album's release. ''A Different Kind of Pain'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Cold. It was released on August 30, 2005 in the US and September 12, 2005 in the UK and features the singles "Happens All the Time" and "A Different Kind of Pain". It has sold over 160,000 copies in the US and would be Cold's last album before their nearly three-year breakup beginning in 2006. The time of the album's recording and release marks a turbulent period for Cold with the band signing to a new record label, experiencing numerous lineup changes, and obtaining weakened commercial success. "Stupid Girl" is a song by American rock band Cold and the lead single from their third major label album, '' Year of the Spider''. It was the second song released for the album overall; "Gone Away" was released on the '' WWE Tough Enough 2'' soundtrack while recognized as a ''Year of the Spider'' track a year prior to its release. "Stupid Girl" made its radio debut on March 18, 2003, and was the only Cold single to crack the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 staying on for 20 weeks and peaking at No. 87. The song, as well as its music video, were heavily played on MTV2 and Fuse TV throughout the several months following its release. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. Its members consist of record labels and distributors that the RIAA says "create, manufacture, and/or distribute approximately 85% of all legally sold recorded music in the United States".
