Jeremiah Doyle
Jeremiah Joseph Doyle (5 December 1849 – 1909), was an Irish born Catholic bishop, the bishop of Grafton. Doyle was born at Kilmurry, County Cork, Ireland. He was the son of Daniel Doyle and his wife Ellen (''née'' Murphy). He was educated in classics at Mount Melleray College, Waterford, and in 1868 he entered All Hallows College, Dublin. Doyle was ordained a priest on 24 June 1874 for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Armidale, New South Wales, Australia. Doyle was consecrated first Bishop of Grafton (now Lismore) by Cardinal Patrick Francis Moran in St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, on 28 August 1887. John Carroll (Australian Bishop)
John Joseph Carroll DD (23 December 1865 — 8 May 1949) was an Irish born priest who served as Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lismore in Australia, for 39 years. Carroll was born in Bresnor, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland, in 1865. He was educated at Mount Melleray Abbey Seminary Co. Waterford, and St. Patrick's, Carlow Diocesan College(1886-1890), and was ordained a priest on 31 May 1890, immediately going to Australia and serving in the Archdiocese of Sydney for 20 years. He was consecrated as the second Bishop of Lismore, New South Wales, by Cardinal Moran on 6 March 1910, succeeding another Irish man Bishop Jeremiah Doyle. Patrick Francis Cardinal Moran (16 September 183016 August 1911) was the third Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney and the first cardinal appointed from Australia. Early life Moran was born at Leighlinbridge, County Carlow, Ireland, on 16 September 1830. His parents were Patrick and Alicia Cullen Moran. Of his three sisters, two became nuns, one of whom died nursing cholera patients. Accessed 6 November 2014 His parents died by the time he was 11 years old. In 1842, at the age of twelve, he left Ireland in the company of his uncle, Paul Cullen, rector of the Irish College in Rome.
