Jeong Jang
Jeong Jang ( ko, 장정, born 11 June 1980) is a South Korean professional golfer who played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She was also a member of the LPGA of Korea Tour. Jang was born in Daejeon, South Korea. She started playing golf at the age of thirteen. As a teenager she won the 1997 Korea Women's Open and the 1998 Korea Women's Amateur. She attended Joongbu University. After qualifying for the LPGA Tour at her first attempt, Jang had a successful rookie season in 2000 including a second-place finish. She reached twelfth on the money list in 2004 and in that year had nine finishes in the top ten. In July 2005 she won for the first time, claiming the Women's British Open, which is one of the women's majors, by four shots. She claimed her second LPGA win in 2006 at the Wegmans LPGA. Jang, Chang and (less often) Zang are romanizations of the common Korean surname . As of the South Korean census of 2015, there were 1,021,107 people by this name in South Korea or 2.05% of the population. Romanization In a study by the National Institute of the Korean Language based on 2007 application data for South Korean passports, it was found that 84.5% of people with this surname spelled it in Latin letters as Jang in their passports. The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a major championship in women's professional golf. Natalie Anne Gulbis (born January 7, 1983) is an American professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. Golf career Gulbis was born and raised in the Sacramento, California, area. She has Latvian ancestry. Gulbis started finding interest in the game at the early age of four. By the time she reached age seven, she had won her first tournament, and at age ten, she reports she was breaking par. The Evian Championship, currently known for sponsorship reasons as The Amundi Evian Championship, is a women's professional golf tournament in France, played at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains. It was originally held in June, moved to July in 2003, and moved again to September in 2013. It returned to a July date in 2019. Safeway LPGA Golf Championship
The Portland Classic is a women's professional golf tournament in Oregon on the LPGA Tour. Founded in 1972, the annual event in the Portland area is the oldest continuous event on the LPGA Tour.
