Jenő Schönberger
Jenő or Eugen Schönberger (born June 18, 1959) is a Romanian cleric, bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Satu Mare. Born into an ethnic Hungarian family in Turulung (''Túrterebes''), Satu Mare County, he studied at the Roman Catholic Theological Institute of Alba Iulia before being ordained in 1985. He was assistant priest in Carei, Satu Mare and Baia Mare and parish priest in Petreşti and Satu Mare. From 1997 to 2001, he was spiritual director and professor of liturgics at Alba Iulia. In 2001 he became parish priest at Dorolț, and the following year he was transferred to Sighetu Marmaţiei. Roman Catholic Diocese Of Satu Mare
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Satu Mare, Romania ( hu, Szatmári Római Katolikus Püspökség) was established on 23 March 1804 by Francis I, King of Hungary, an act recognised by Pope Pius VII that 9 August. At the time, the diocese was part of the Kingdom of Hungary and covered a larger territory, including land in present-day Hungary and Slovakia as well as Romania. It was constituted in its present form on 18 October 1982, when the Communist regime split it from the Oradea Mare Diocese. The diocese has 48 parishes with 90,000 adherents. It covers the counties of Satu Mare and Maramureş, of which 8.2% are Roman Catholic, with concentrations in Satu Mare County along the Hungarian border. Petrești, Satu Mare
Petrești (german: Petrifeld; hu, Mezőpetri, Hungarian pronunciation: ) is a commune of 1,588 inhabitants situated in Satu Mare County, Romania. It is composed of two villages, Dindeștiu Mic (''Kisdengeleg'') and Petrești. In 1740, count Sándor Károlyi colonized the village with a German population. In the commune, tourists can visit the Petrești Swabian Museum, a household typical of traditional Swabian architecture.
