''Jenu Goodu'' () is a 1963 Indian Kannada film, directed by Y. R. Swamy and produced by T. Vasanna and S. Heera. The film stars K. S. Ashwath, Udaykumar, Rajashankar and Pandari Bai in lead roles. Jayanthi and Chandrakala both made their Kannada debut with this movie. The film has musical score by Vijaya Krishnamurthy. The film was a remake of the 1954 Bengali film ''Banga Kora'' which in turn was based on the novel ''Bijila'' by Prabhavathi Devi Saraswathi. The Bengali movie was also earlier remade in Tamil as ''Kula Dheivam'' and in Hindi as ''Bhabhi''. Pandari Bai reprised her role in all versions except Bengali. Bommasandra Srinivasaiah Suryanarayana Murthy (16 March 1933 – 26 December 1985), known by his screen name Udaykumar, was an Indian actor and producer in Kannada cinema. He, along with Kalyan Kumar and Rajkumar, were called the ''Kumarathrayaru'' (meaning the three Kumars) of Kannada cinema He has authored many dramas and books. He has performed a broad range of roles and worked with all of the prominent actors of his day. Prabhavathi Devi Saraswathi
Prabhavathi Devi Saraswathi (5 March1905- 14 May 1972) was an Indian Bengali writer and novelist. Early life Prabhavathi was born in 1905 in Khantura, Gobardanga, North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, British India. Her father was Gopalchandra Bandyopadhyay. He was a lawyer based in Dinajpur, East Bengal. She married Bibhutibhushan Chowdhury when she was nine years old. She studied at the Brahma Girls' Training College, where she trained to be a teacher. Career Prabhavathi joined the Calcutta City Corporation School as a teacher. She founded the Savitri School in North Kolkata. She wrote in journals as The Mohammadi, Bharatvarsa, Upasana, Banshri, and Sarathi among others. In 1923 she published her first novel, Bijita. Her novel was made into a Bengali movie, Bhanga Gora. Pandari Bai (1930 – 29 January 2003) was an Indian actress who worked in South Indian cinema, mostly in Kannada cinema during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
