Jens Landmark (17 December 1811 – 9 July 1880) was a Norwegian military officer and politician. He reached the rank of lieutenant colonel, was the director of Kongsberg Weapons Factory from 1854 to 1880, invented the Landmark conversion and served both as mayor as well as three periods in the Norwegian Parliament. Randsfjord Line
The Randsfjorden Line ( no, Randsfjordbanen) is an railway located in Viken county in Norway connecting Drammen to Hønefoss and Hadeland in Innlandet county. The railway is primarily used for passenger trains, and the only scheduled trains on the stretch are Norwegian State Railways express trains on the Bergen Line between Oslo and Bergen. Freight trains to Bergen go to Hønefoss via the Gjøvik Line. The railway is owned by the Norwegian National Rail Administration. The entire line is standard gauge, and the from Drammen to Hønefoss is electrified at . The remaining from Hønefoss to Randsfjorden is not electrified and currently disused. Ole Herman Krag
Ole Herman Johannes Krag (7 April 1837 – 9 December 1916) was a Norwegian officer and firearms designer. Biography Ole H. J. Krag was born in Vågå, in Oppland county, Norway. Krag grew up in various locations where his father, Hans Peter Schnitler Krag (1794–1855), served as pastor, including Vågå, Fredrikshald (Halden) and Christiania (Oslo). Krag was a student at Hartvig Nissens skole in Oslo. He started his military career in January 1854. He became a Second Lieutenant in 1857 and a full Lieutenant in 1861. In 1866 he was ordered to Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk, the most important Norwegian weapons factory of its day. Ole H J Krag constructed his first repeating rifle in 1868, which evolved into the Krag–Petersson (aided by Axel Petersson) by 1872. Sjur Aasmundsen Sexe (14 August 1808 – 17 February 1888) was a Norwegian mineralogist and educator. Biography Sexe was from Ullensvang parish in Hordaland, Norway. He was the son of Aamund Sjursen Sexe (1769–1864) and Brita Torsteinsdatter Mæland. He grew up on a farm with pietist parents who were members of the Haugean movement. He attended Bergen Cathedral School and took the examen artium in 1834. Sexe studied rock science at the University of Christiania (now University of Oslo) and graduated with a cand.miner. degree in 1840. During the years 1843–1844 he received a state scholarship to complete study trips at mines in Sweden and Germany and at the University of Berlin.
