Jenny Halpern Prince
Jenny Halpern Prince (née Halpern) is a British businesswoman. Biography Prince was born in Kingston Upon Thames. She is the daughter of Sir Ralph Halpern and Lady (Joan) Halpern. In 2014, she helped found the Lady Garden Foundation, a national women's health charity focusing on fighting gynaecological cancers. Prince began her career as a PR Officer at Joseph, and founded Halpern PR in 1993. Halpern was one of the first agencies in London to create a specialist celebrity and influencer division. Halpern PR was part acquired by WPP in 2014 when Prince sold a percentage of the business to The&Partnership. Kingston Upon Thames
Kingston upon Thames (hyphenated until 1965, colloquially known as Kingston) is a town in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, southwest London, England. It is situated on the River Thames and southwest of Charing Cross. It is notable as the ancient market town in which Saxon kings were crowned and today is the administrative centre of the Royal Borough. Sir Ralph Halpern
Sir Ralph Mark Halpern (24 October 1938 – 10 August 2022) was a British businessman, who was the founder of Topshop and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Burton Group from 1979 to 1991. Early life Ralph Halpern was born in October 1938 in London, after his Jewish parents fled from the Nazis in the 1930s and emigrated to England, losing their fortune. Career Halpern joined Burton Group as a management trainee in 1961, and was directly involved in the establishment of Top Shop (above a Peter Robinson branch) in 1964. On the back of its success he progressed through the managerial ranks becoming chief executive in 1978. He turned it into a retail empire that dominated the British high street, with 2,800 stores and employing more than 60,000 people. With brands including Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Debenhams, Principles, Racing Green and Evans, it was worth £1.8bn when Halpern was ousted by the board in 1991. The Lady Garden Foundation, previously the Gynaecological Cancer Fund, was formed in 2014 in the United Kingdom. The foundation was started by a group of women, all of whom had been affected by gynaecological cancer in some capacity. History The Lady Garden Foundation was launched in 2014 as the Gynaecological Cancer Fund in order to raise funds and awareness of a number of gynaecological cancers. The charity has created items of clothing, which have appeared in ''Hello! (magazine), Hello!'' and ''Vanity Fair (magazine), Vanity Fair''.
