Jennifer Whitmore
Jennifer Whitmore (born July 1974) is an Irish Social Democrats politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Wicklow constituency since the 2020 general election. Early life and education Whitmore is from Wexford. She gained two diplomas at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science and Ecology from the University of Ulster. During the ten years she resided in Australia, she studied Environmental Law at the University of Sydney. Career Whitmore has worked in both local and international ecology and environmentalism as well as with the Government of New South Wales, Australia. In 2015, she founded the East Wicklow Rivers Trust. She was elected to represent the Greystones local electoral area on the Wicklow County Council, following the 2014 local elections. A Teachta Dála ( , ; plural ), abbreviated as TD (plural ''TDanna'' in Irish, TDs in English), is a member of Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (the Irish Parliament). It is the equivalent of terms such as ''Member of Parliament'' (MP) or '' Member of Congress'' used in other countries. County Wicklow ( ; ga, Contae Chill Mhantáin ) is a county in Ireland. The last of the traditional 32 counties, having been formed as late as 1606, it is part of the Eastern and Midland Region and the province of Leinster. Delgany
Delgany () is a small rural village in County Wicklow in Ireland, located on the R762 road which connects to the N11 road at the Glen of the Downs. It is about south of Dublin city centre. While it is an older more rural settlement, it is closely connected to the urban area of Greystones. The area is surrounded by wooded hills (including Kindlestown Wood) and the Glen of the Downs. Delgany has a Church of Ireland parish church which is associated with the nearby Delgany National School. It is also in the Roman Catholic parish of Kilquade and the parish church is in Kilquade about to the south. The local Catholic school is St Laurence's National School which is on Convent Road. Heritage The Old Burial Ground is an early Christian settlement dating back to the 7th century.
