Jennifer West
Jennifer West (born 1966) is an American artist. She is known for her digitized films that are made by hand manipulating film celluloid. She serves as faculty at the University of Southern California (USC) at the Roski School of Art and Design. She lives and works in Los Angeles. Wendy Vogel writes for Artforum.com, "Like her experimental predecessors, West forgoes narrative cohesion in favor of creating jumpy cuts and abstract visual collages––splicing, rolling, and drenching the celluloid using materials from Mylar tape to pickle juice, whiskey to candle smoke." Art Center College of Design (stylized as ArtCenter College of Design) is a private art college in Pasadena, California. History ArtCenter College of Design was founded in 1930 in downtown Los Angeles as the Art Center School. In 1935, Fred R. Archer founded the photography department, and Ansel Adams was a guest instructor in the late 1930s. During and after World War II, ArtCenter ran a technical illustration program in conjunction with the California Institute of Technology. In 1947, the post-war boom in students caused the school to expand to a larger location in the building of the former Cumnock School for Girls in the Hancock Park neighborhood, while still maintaining a presence at its original downtown location. The school began granting Bachelor's and Master's degrees in arts in 1949, and was fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 1955. Lindley Winslow
Lindley Winslow is an experimental nuclear and particle physicist, and associate professor at MIT. Biography Winslow grew up in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. Winslow completed her BA in physics in 2001 and her PhD in 2008 at University of California at Berkeley, before doing a postdoc at MIT. She was an assistant professor at University of California, Los Angeles before moving back to MIT in 2015, where she works on the search for dark matter. In 2016, Winslow was consulted on the equations in the Ghostbusters reboot film. In 2018, Winslow established a grant programme especially for women physicists. Matthew Higgs (born 1964) is an English artist, curator, writer and publisher.
