Jennifer Crouse
Jennifer Crouse (born May 23, 1977) is an American retired professional basketball player. Career College In college, Crouse attended University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota, playing for the Fighting Sioux ('It was controversially named Fighting Sioux at the time'') in NCAA Division II. Whilst completing her degree in 2001, Crouse would remain on board as the Assistant Coach of the UND Women's basketball team. Until she decided to pursue her professional career in Australia. WNBA After her college career, Crouse was signed by the Phoenix Mercury for the 1999 WNBA season. However, she was waived one month later. The following year, Crouse was invited to the Miami Sol's training camp before the 2000 WNBA season. Crouse was released before the season began. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall. They traditionally play close to the basket in the low post. Centers are valued for their ability to protect their own goal from high-percentage close attempts on defense, while scoring and rebounding with high efficiency on offense. In the 1950s and 1960s, George Mikan and Bill Russell were centerpieces of championship dynasties and defined early prototypical centers. Miami Sol
The Miami Sol were a professional women's basketball team that was based in Miami and entered the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) in 2000. They played their games at American Airlines Arena as the sister team to the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team folded after the 2002 season because of financial problems. History The city of Miami was granted one of the first four expansion teams of the WNBA in June 1999 along with Indianapolis, Seattle, and Portland. In their short history, the Miami Sol was coached for three seasons by Ron Rothstein. For their inaugural 2000 season, the Sol finished in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with an overall record of 13–19. Melbourne Boomers
The Melbourne Boomers are an Australian professional basketball team based in Melbourne, Victoria. The Boomers compete in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) and play the majority of their home games at Melbourne Sports Centre – Parkville and the State Basketball Centre. For sponsorship reasons, they are known as the Deakin Melbourne Boomers. Entering the WNBL in 1984, the club is both the oldest WNBL club and the longest-running elite-level women's sports team in Australia (in any sport). NBL1 West, formerly the State Basketball League (SBL), is a semi-professional basketball league in Western Australia, comprising both a men's and women's competition. In 2020, Basketball Western Australia partnered with the National Basketball League (NBL) to bring NBL1 to Western Australia. Lakeside Lightning is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is owned and managed by Lakeside Baptist Church. The Damen-Basketball-Bundesligen GmbH (DBBL) is a company founded in June 2001, which manages the first and the two second federal leagues of women's basketball in Germany. Greek Women's Basketball League
The Greek women's Basketball League, also known as A1 Ethniki (A1 National) Women's Basketball is the most important competition of Greek women's professional basketball. It is organised by the EOK (Hellenic Basketball Federation). It began with the 1967–68 season. The first championship of the league, which was held in the 1967–68 season, was organised by ΕΟΑΠ (Greek: ''Ελληνική Ομοσπονδία Αθλοπαιδιών''). Two years later, the EOK assumed control of the competition. Iraklis Thessaloniki won the inaugural championship of the league, in the 1967–68 season.
