Jennifer Clulow
Jennifer Clulow (born 30 March 1942) is a British actress and television presenter, best known for her appearances in a series of television advertisements for Cointreau. She first came to attention in the 1960s in various drama series, including '' Mr Rose'' (1968), in which her character, Jessica Dalton, succeeded Drusilla Lamb (Gillian Lewis) as secretary to the retired Chief Inspector Rose ( William Mervyn). Clulow was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. She appeared as an actress in many television series of the period, including ''The Avengers'', '' No Hiding Place'' and '' Department S'', and played a small role in the 1967 comedy film ''Carry On Don't Lose Your Head''. Cointreau
Cointreau (, , ) is a brand of orange-flavoured triple sec liqueur produced in Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou, France. It is consumed as an apéritif and digestif, and is a component of several well-known cocktails. It was originally called Curaçao Blanco Triple Sec. Despite the orange bottle, Cointreau is colourless. Production Cointreau Distillery was set up in 1849 by Adolphe Cointreau, a confectioner, and his brother Edouard-Jean Cointreau. Their first success was with the cherry liqueur Guignolet, but they also found success when they blended sweet and bitter orange peels and pure alcohol from sugar beets. Tony Hart
Norman Antony Hart (15 October 1925 – 18 January 2009),Debrett's People of Today 2008, Debrett's Peerage Ltd, 2007. known professionally as Tony Hart, was an English artist best known for his work in educating children in art through his role as a children's television presenter. Hart initially served as an officer in a Gurkha regiment until the start of Indian independence. After this he became involved in children's television from the 1950s, working on the BBC's ''Blue Peter'' for a few years before fronting a series of children's art programmes, including ''Vision On'', ''Take Hart'' and ''Hartbeat''. Hart's contributions to children's television include the design of the ship logo used by ''Blue Peter'' and the show's badges, and the animated character of Morph, who appeared beside him on his programmes following his introduction in the 1970s. Television South West (TSW) was the ITV franchise holder for the South West England region from 1 January 1982 until 31 December 1992, broadcasting from studios at Derry's Cross in Plymouth, Devon. History Origins and Launch On 28 December 1980 TSW was awarded the contract to serve the South West England region from the night of 31 December 1981 at 12 midnight for a 10-year period, succeeding incumbent Westward Television, which had served the area since 1961. Westward Television was the first ITV franchise-holder for the South West of England. It held the franchise from 29 April 1961 until 31 December 1981. After a difficult start, Westward Television provided a popular, distinctive and highly regarded service to its region, until public boardroom squabbles led to its franchise not being renewed by the IBA. Westward launched the career of many broadcasters who became well known nationally, won numerous awards for its programming, and heavily influenced its successor, TSW. ''The Odd Man'' was a police series produced by Granada Television, running over four series between 1960 and 1963. The character of pompous police Chief Inspector Charles Rose (William Mervyn) at the start of series 3 cemented the show's popularity, and ''The Odd Man'' turned out to be the first in a trilogy lasting most of the 1960s, during which Rose's character slowly developed and became increasingly genial as they progressed. ''Don't Lose Your Head'' is a 1967 British swashbuckling comedy film, the 13th in the series of 31 ''Carry On'' films (1958–1992). It features regular team members Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Jim Dale, Charles Hawtrey, and Joan Sims. Set in France and England in 1789 during the French Revolution, it is a parody of Baroness Orczy's ''The Scarlet Pimpernel''.
