Jeneva McCall
Jeneva Stevens (née McCall, born October 28, 1989) is an American track and field athlete specializing in the shot put and hammer throw. Her biggest successes to date are the gold medal at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan and 9th place at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow. She studied at Southern Illinois University. Her father was former boxing world champion Oliver McCall. Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. Athletics At The 2015 Pan American Games
Athletics competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 19 to 26 at the newly built CIBC Pan Am and Parapan Am Athletics Stadium, located on the campus of York University. The racewalking and marathon events were held on the temporary circuits around the Ontario Place West Channel. The sport of athletics is split into distinct sets of events: track and field events, road running events, and racewalking events. Mirroring the Olympic athletics program, both men and women had very similar schedules of events. Men competed in 24 events and women in 23, as their schedule lacks the 50 km race walk. In addition, both the men's 110 m hurdles and decathlon are reflected in the women's schedule by the 100 m hurdles and heptathlon, respectively. 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics was the fifteenth edition of the international indoor track and field competition, organised by the IAAF. The event was held between 7–9 March 2014 at the Ergo Arena in Sopot, Poland. Preparation Host bidding The IAAF announced on 1 September 2011 that it had received bids from Poland and Croatia to host the championships. Later Zagreb, Croatia withdrew due to lack of funding. On 11 November 2011 at a Council meeting in Monaco, the IAAF announced that Sopot, as the only remaining bidder, would host the championships. Budapest, Hungary had shown interest but eventually did not bid. Venue The Championships were held at the Ergo Arena, opened in 2010, on the border of the cities of Sopot and Gdańsk. The women's hammer throw at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Luzhniki Stadium on 14–16 August. After feeling out the ring, there were six automatic qualifiers to the final, most making it on their second attempt. It took 70.47 to make the final. Among the non-qualifiers was the world record holder Betty Heidler. In the final, Jeneva McCall's first attempt 72.33 held up through the first 9 throwers until Tatyana Lysenko let loose a 77.58. Zhang Wenxiu answered that with a 74.62 to move into second place.
