Jency
Jensy Gregory (née Anthony), also known mononymously as Jensy (also spelt Jency), is an Indian playback singer who has worked with composers like Ilayaraaja in Tamil films. Career Jensy Gregory hails from a family of musicians and music came into her life at a very young age. She was introduced to the Tamil movie industry in the song "Vaanathu Poonkili" in the movie ''Thiripurasundari'' scored by Ilayaraja. Her songs that followed were in many blockbuster movies like ''Mullum Malarum'' and ''Priya''. In September 2010, Srikanth Deva read one of the Jensy interviews and decided to give the talented singer a break in one of the movies that he was composing for. After the song recording was over, both director, John Mahendran and music director were heard saying that even after all these years Jensy's voice had not aged. ''Niram Maratha Pookal'' () is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language film directed and co-written by Bharathiraja. It stars Sudhakar, Raadhika, Vijayan and Rati. The film was released on 31 August 1979. Plot Sudhakar is a poor man desperately looking for work. One day he has a skirmish with Radhika, a rich woman and only daughter of a businessman Selladurai, in a telephone booth. ''Alaigal Oivathillai'' () is a 1981 Indian Tamil-language romance film written and directed by Bharathiraja, from a story by Manivannan. The film stars two new debutants Karthik and Radha, while Thiagarajan, Silk Smitha and Kamala Kamesh appear in supporting roles. It follows Vichu (played by Karthik), a Hindu Brahmin boy, who falls in love with Mary (played by Radha), a Christian girl. How the lovers unite braving all the obstacles, forms the crux of the story. The story and screenplay were written by Manivannan and Bharathiraja, respectively. Poonthalir () is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by Devaraj–Mohan, starring Sivakumar and Sujatha. The music was scored by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was a remake of Hindi film ''Aakhri Khat'' (1966). The film, Sivakumar's 101st as an actor, was a success. Plot Ashok (Sivakumar), an artist/sculptor, falls in love with and marries Maya, a poor Keralite woman ( Sujatha), but they become separated when Ashok leaves for a prolonged assignment in the USA. It is based on Mahendran's own novel of the same name that was serialised in the magazine ''Chaavi''. The film was released on 14 January 1982.
