Jefry Marté
Jefry Leonal Marté Paulino (born June 21, 1991) is a Dominican professional baseball first baseman, third baseman and left fielder for the Generales de Durango of the Mexican League. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels. Career Minor leagues Marté signed as an international free agent with the New York Mets. He played for the St. Lucie Mets of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League in 2011 and the Binghamton Mets of the Class AA Eastern League in 2012. He participated in the All-Star Futures Game during the 2011 season and the Arizona Fall League after the 2011 season. The Mets traded Marté to the Oakland Athletics on December 18, 2012, in exchange for outfielder Collin Cowgill. On November 22, 2014, Marté signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers. A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3. Also called first sacker or cornerman, the first baseman is ideally a tall player who throws left-handed and possesses good flexibility and quick reflexes. Collin Cowgill
Collin Brannen Cowgill (born May 22, 1986) is an American former professional baseball outfielder and current major league coach. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Oakland Athletics, New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, and the Cleveland Indians. Prior to his professional career, Cowgill played college baseball for the University of Kentucky. Cowgill was the coach for the Arkansas Travelers, the Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, and is currently the first base coach for the Cincinnati Reds. Amateur career Cowgill attended the University of Kentucky, where he played college baseball for the Kentucky Wildcats baseball team. The Arizona Fall League (AFL) is an off-season sports league owned and operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) which operates during the autumn in Arizona, United States, at six different baseball complexes. Arizona Fall League rosters are filled by many of the top prospects in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) who are assigned by their parent clubs. Structure The six teams of the AFL are organized in two three-team divisions. All-Star Futures Game
The All-Star Futures Game is an annual baseball exhibition game hosted by Major League Baseball (MLB) in conjunction with the mid-summer MLB All-Star Game. A team of American League-affiliated prospects competes against a team of National League-affiliated prospects. From the inaugural 1999 event through 2018, teams of prospects from the United States faced off against teams of prospects from other countries. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are an American Minor League Baseball team based in Binghamton, New York. The team, which plays in the Eastern League, is the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets major-league club. The Rumble Ponies play in Mirabito Stadium, located in Binghamton. The Florida State League (FSL) is a Minor League Baseball league based in the state of Florida. Having been classified at various levels throughout its existence, it operated at Class A-Advanced from 1990 until its demotion to Single-A following Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues.
