Jeffrey De Zwaan
Jeffrey de Zwaan (born 26 March 1996) is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Career De Zwaan progressed through to the last 16 of the 2014 World Masters, where he lost 3–0 to Glen Durrant. He won a two-year PDC Tour Card in 2015 by defeating Prakash Jiwa 5–1 in the final round. He played in the German Darts Championship and saw off Devon Petersen 6–2, before being whitewashed 6–0 by Adrian Lewis in round two. A last 16 showing in the final qualifier saw de Zwaan make his debut at the UK Open and he lost 5–2 to Benito van de Pas in the second round. He eliminated Steve Brown, Michael Smith, Ken MacNeil and Jelle Klaasen to reach his first PDC quarter-final at the fourth Players Championship event and lost 6–3 to Lewis. PDC Tour Card
The PDC Pro Tour is a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). They comprise Professional Dart Players Association (PDPA) Players Championships and European Tour events. Only four players have gone on to win at least 30 titles on the PDC Pro Tour. Michael van Gerwen has won the most Pro Tour titles winning 84. Phil Taylor is second on the list winning 70 events, Peter Wright third winning 32 events and Gary Anderson in fourth winning 31 events, as of September 2022. Pro Tour Card Since 2011, the PDC Pro Tour has operated a Tour Card system. 128 players are granted Tour Cards, which enables them to participate in all Players Championships. 2015 German Darts Championship
The 2015 German Darts Championship was the first of nine PDC European Tour events on the 2015 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at Halle 39, Hildesheim, Germany, between 13–15 February 2015. It featured a field of 48 players and £115,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Gary Anderson was the defending champion, having beaten Justin Pipe 6–5 in the 2014 tournament´s final, and in this year's final Michael van Gerwen won the title by beating Anderson 6–2. Prakash Jiwa
Prakash Jiwa (born 21 May 1970 in Rugby, Warwickshire) is an English-Indian professional darts player He has won a tour card through Qualifying School to compete in Professional Darts Corporation events on three occasions. PDC career Jiwa qualified in 2010 as an amateur for the UK Open but lost in the first round to Simon Cunningham 6–4. He took part in the PDC Qualifying School in 2011 and earned a Tour Card to compete on the PDC Circuit full-time on the fourth and final day. In 2012 he reached the quarter-finals of two UK Open qualifiers to enter the tournament itself in the second round, where he lost 4–2 to Mark Barilli. Jiwa also reached the quarter-finals of the 12th Players Championship where he was edged out 6–5 by Michael van Gerwen. Glen Durrant
Glen Durrant (born 24 November 1970), nicknamed "Duzza", is an English former professional darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He previously won the BDO World Darts Championship three times consecutively from 2017 to 2019. He is also a one-time World Trophy, two-time World Masters and three-time Finder Darts Masters champion. After switching to the PDC in 2019, Durrant secured his maiden PDC major title by winning the 2020 Premier League. BDO Early career Although he began playing in 1985, Durrant's first major appearance was in the 2004 Winmau World Masters, where he lost out in the early stages to Dietmar Burger. 2014 World Masters (darts)
The 2014 Winmau World Masters was a major tournament on the BDO/ WDF calendar for 2014. It took place from 9–12 October, with 9 October played at the Bonus Arena for the non-stage matches, and 10–12 October played at the Hull City Hall, which hosted the stage element of the event for the fourth year. Stephen Bunting was unable to defend his title due to his switch to the PDC. Deta Hedman attempted to defend the title she won in 2013 as the number 1 seed. Maud Jansson defeated her 4–2 in the last 64 though. Another seed that was knocked out before the quarter-finals was Lorraine Winstanley who lost 1–3 in the last 16 to Lisa Ashton. The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is a professional darts organisation in the United Kingdom, established in 1992 when a group of leading players split from the British Darts Organisation (BDO) to form what was initially called the World Darts Council (WDC). Sports promoter Eddie Hearn is the PDC chairman. 2012 World Masters (darts)
The 2012 Winmau World Masters was a major televised tournament on the BDO/ WDF calendar for 2012. It took place from 11 to 14 October, with 11 October play at the Costello Stadium for the untelevised matches, and 12–14 October play at the Hull City Hall, which hosted the televised element of the event for the second time, taking over from the nearby Hull Arena who hosted for one year in 2011 Scott Waites and Lisa Ashton both attempted to defend their titles they won for the first time last year, however Stephen Bunting and Julie Gore took the main titles after Waites and Ashton lost their opening matches. This tournament was known for being Phill Nixon's last major tournament. Nixon died on 9 August 2013 from cancer. World Masters (darts)
The World Masters is one of the longest-running and most prestigious of the BDO/WDF tournaments, which began in 1974. The tournament is sponsored by darts board manufacturer, Winmau. The World Masters was unusual in darts in that its sets are the best of 3 legs (first to 2) rather than the standard best of 5 legs (first to 3). It was previously the final leg of the BDO's Grand Slam title of televised majors, along with the BDO World Darts Championship, International Darts League and World Darts Trophy, until the latter two tournaments were axed in 2008. The champion is referred to as the World Master. After the collapse of the British Darts Organisation in September 2020, the World Darts Federation announced plans to launch the WDF World Masters. The 2018 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championships, UK Open Qualifiers and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. Wigan
Wigan ( ) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Douglas. The town is midway between the two cities of Manchester, to the south-east, and Liverpool, to the south-west.
