Jeff Zimbalist
Jeffrey Leib Nettler Zimbalist (born 1978) is an American filmmaker. He has been Academy Award shortlisted, has won a Peabody, a DuPont, and 3 Emmy Awards, with 13 Emmy nominations. He is the owner of film and television production company All Rise Films. Early life Jeffrey Leib Nettler Zimbalist was born on August 15, 1978 in Northampton, Massachusetts. Zimbalist grew up in western Massachusetts, attending Northampton High School. He played baseball, football, and competitively skied. He received his bachelor's degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island in 2000. Career Zimbalist's films have been shown on Netflix, HBO, Apple, ESPN, Fox, Showtime, CBS, and theatrically exhibited. Favelas
Favela () is an umbrella name for several types of working-class neighborhoods in Brazil. The term was first used in the Providência neighborhood in the center of Rio de Janeiro in the late 19th century, which was built by soldiers who had lived under the favela trees in Bahia and had nowhere to live following the Canudos War. Some of the first settlements were called ''bairros africanos'' (African neighborhoods). Over the years, many former enslaved Africans moved in. Even before the first favela came into being, poor citizens were pushed away from the city and forced to live in the far suburbs. Most modern favelas appeared in the 1970s due to rural exodus, when many people left rural areas of Brazil and moved to cities. Unable to find places to live, many people found themselves in favelas. The Tribeca Festival is an annual film festival organized by TriBeCa Productions, Tribeca Productions. The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) is a museum in a converted Arnold Print Works factory building complex located in North Adams, Massachusetts. It is one of the largest centers for contemporary visual art and performing arts in the United States. Built by the Arnold Print Works, which operated on the site from 1860 to 1942, the complex was used by the Sprague Electric company before its conversion.
