Jeff Wilner
Jeffrey Scott Wilner (December 31, 1971) is a former tight end in the National Football League (NFL). Biography Wilner was born on December 31, 1971, in East Meadowbrook, New York. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and played college football at Wesleyan University where he was teammates with future NFL coach Eric Mangini. Wilner was the first graduate of the university to play in the NFL. College career In 1990, as a freshman, Wilner recorded four receptions for 27 yards and one touchdown while playing tight end for coach Kevin Spencer. After spending his sophomore year playing offensive tackle, Wilner returned to tight end for his junior season, recording 12 receptions for 163 yards and one touchdown. As a senior, Wilner recorded 28 receptions for 245 yards and three touchdowns at tight end. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. Kevin Spencer (American Football)
Kevin Spencer (born November 2, 1953) is an American football coach. Coaching career Early years In 1975, Spencer coached wrestling and lacrosse at the State University of New York as a graduate assistant. From 1976 to 1979 he coached at Detroit County Day High School in Birmingham, Michigan. Spencer spent the next two years as a graduate assistant at Cornell University. After coaching for one season at Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland, Spencer received a job coaching at Ithaca College. From 1981 to 1985, he was the head freshman coach and in 1986 he served as the offensive coordinator. NFL Europe
NFL Europe League (simply called NFL Europe and known in its final season as NFL Europa League) was a professional American football league that functioned as the developmental minor league of the National Football League (NFL). Originally founded in 1989 as the World League of American Football (or WLAF), the league was envisioned as a transatlantic league encompassing teams from both North America and Europe. Initially, the WLAF consisted of seven teams in North America and three in Europe. Mark Chmura
Mark William Chmura (born February 22, 1969) is a former American football tight end. He played in college at Boston College. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round (157th overall) of the 1992 NFL Draft. He played his entire career with the Packers. During his playing career, his nickname was Chewy. He won Super Bowl XXXI with the Packers against his hometown team, the New England Patriots. College career Before his NFL career, Chmura began (and eventually ended) his career at Frontier Regional High School. Chmura then played for Boston College, where he set a school record with 164 receptions. The record has since been broken, but his mark is still 4th in school history. His 2,046 yards is also sixth in school history.
