Jeff Watson (politician)
Jeffrey D. Watson (born March 25, 1971 in Windsor, Ontario) is the former Member of Parliament for the Essex electoral district in Ontario, 2004-2015 under Stephen Harper's Prime Ministership. In the 2015 General Election, and after four terms in office, Watson narrowly lost his seat to the NDP. The Watsons relocated to Calgary, Alberta looking for a better life. Watson and his wife Sarah have six children. Susan Whelan
Susan Elizabeth Whelan, (; born May 5, 1963 in Windsor, Ontario) is a former Canadian Member of Parliament with the Liberal Party of Canada. Whelan, a lawyer, first won a seat in the House of Commons of Canada in the 1993 election representing Essex—Windsor. In 1997 and 2000 she was elected to represent Essex. In 2002, Whelan was appointed by Prime Minister Jean Chrétien as Minister for International Cooperation as a cabinet minister. Whelan was defeated by Conservative Jeff Watson at the 2004 election, and unsuccessfully tried to win back her old seat in 2006 and the 2008. Susan Whelan is the daughter of former Liberal Federal Minister of Agriculture, the Honourable Eugene Whelan. Calgary-Hays is a provincial electoral district mandated to return one member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Canada using the first past the post method of voting. The United Conservative Party of Alberta (UCP) is a conservative political party in the province of Alberta, Canada. It was established in July 2017 as a merger between the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta and the Wildrose Party. When established, the UCP immediately formed the Official Opposition in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The UCP won a majority mandate in the 2019 Alberta general election to form the government of Alberta. Ric McIver
Richard William McIver (born August 28, 1958) is a Canadian politician who has represented Calgary-Hays in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta since 2012. A member of the United Conservative Party (UCP), McIver is the current minister of municipal affairs. He entered politics in 2001 when he was elected to the Calgary City Council, serving until 2010. In 2012, he joined the Progressive Conservatives (PCs) and was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
