Jeff Shreve
Jeff Shreve is an American public address announcer for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League, University of Akron football and men's basketball, the Mid-American Conference and the former public address announcer of the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association and the Canton Charge of the NBA G League. Shreve was born in Canton, Ohio. He left GlenOak High School in 1983 and is a graduate of the University of Mount Union (1987). Shreve became a full-time public address announcer at the beginning of the second season of Gund Arena in the 1995-96 NBA season. He was the voice of the 1997 NBA All-Star Game and the "NBA at 50" halftime ceremony honoring the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. He was replaced by Ronnie Duncan after the 2004-05 NBA season as part of the team overhaul by the new owner, Dan Gilbert. Canton, Ohio
Canton () is a city in and the county seat of Stark County, Ohio. It is located approximately south of Cleveland and south of Akron in Northeast Ohio. The city lies on the edge of Ohio's extensive Amish country, particularly in Holmes and Wayne counties to the city's west and southwest. The 1997 NBA All-Star Game was the 47th edition of the All-Star Game and commemorated the 50th anniversary of NBA. The game was played on February 9, 1997, at Gund Arena (now known as Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse) in Cleveland. The winner of the MVP award was Glen Rice of the Charlotte Hornets who played 25 minutes and scored 26 points while breaking two records in the process, 20 points in the third quarter and 24 points in the second half. Rice's 20 points in the period broke Hal Greer's record (19), set in 1968. Rice's 24 points in a half surpassed the previous mark of 23, owned by Wilt Chamberlain and Tom Chambers. Howard Alan "Howie" Chizek (June 9, 1947 – June 16, 2012) was an American radio personality, former public address announcer, and philanthropist. Career Radio Chizek got his start in radio at Youngstown State University in 1964. Then, after a five-year stint at Youngstown's WBBW, Howie Chizek started hosting a talk radio show in the Akron, Ohio, market on WNIR FM-100.1. He began broadcasting with WNIR, then WKNT, on June 3, 1974, and remained there until his death in 2012. Chizek had the longest-running, no-guest talk radio show in America. Throughout that time, the show had included a listenership of over 300,000. It ran six days a week, from Monday through Saturday. Jim Mueller
James F. Mueller (May 23, 1943 – August 17, 2022) was an American sportscaster. He was a radio announcer for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL) from 1975 to 1995, and was a sports anchor on Cleveland TV newscasts through most of the 1970s and 1980s. Early life and education Mueller was born on May 23, 1943, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He later moved to Florida and became a reservist in the Marines while playing college football at the University of Florida. He had a training camp stint with the Baltimore Colts of the National Football League (NFL) after college, but it was ended by a severe ankle injury. He also played for a semi-professional team in Orlando, Florida. After his football career, he worked for a time as a commercial airline pilot.
