Jeff Rohrer
Jeffrey Charles Rohrer (born December 25, 1958) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Yale University and was drafted in the second round of the 1982 NFL Draft. Early life and collegiate career Rohrer attended Mira Costa High School, where he played football. He was a National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete. In 2014 Rohrer was inducted into Mira Costa's Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame, in the same group of inductees as musician Jim Lindberg and scientist Lance J. Dixon. He attended Yale University. In 1978, he was a backup defensive end. He did not attend school in 1979. In 1980, he was moved to inside linebacker and helped his team win the Ivy League championship. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. Jimmy Johnson (American Football Coach)
James William Johnson (born July 16, 1943) is an American sports analyst and former football coach. Johnson served as a head football coach on the collegiate level from 1979 to 1988 and in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. He is the first head football coach to win both a college football national championship and a Super Bowl (Barry Switzer and Pete Carroll have since joined him), achieving the former with Miami and the latter with the Dallas Cowboys. Johnson held his first head football coaching position at Oklahoma State before becoming Miami's head football coach in 1984 and guided the team to victory in the 1988 Orange Bowl. His collegiate success resulted in Johnson succeeding original Cowboys head coach Tom Landry in 1989, a position that saw him help rebuild the team back to winning form. The 1989 NFL season was the 70th regular season of the National Football League. Before the season, NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle announced his retirement. Paul Tagliabue was eventually chosen to succeed him, taking over on November 5. The 1988 NFL season was the 69th regular season of the National Football League. The Cardinals relocated from St. Louis, Missouri to the Phoenix, Arizona area becoming the Phoenix Cardinals but remained in the NFC East division. Training Camp (National Football League)
In the National Football League, training camp refers to the time before the season commences. During this time, teams sometimes congregate at an outside location, usually a university, to conduct training camp for at least the first few weeks. This is similar to baseball's spring training. Training camp is used in several different ways. New players and coaches use it to acclimate themselves to new teammates and systems. For younger players, it serves as a period of evaluation; for veterans, it is time to return to form. Training camp is divided into several different components. The first is scrimmages. Anthony Dickerson
Anthony Charles Dickerson (June 9, 1957 – March 21, 2019) was an American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills. He played college football at Southern Methodist University. Early years Dickerson's family moved to Pearland in 1957, but it was not until after integration that he attended Pearland schools. Before the third grade he attended Ralph A Bunch in Manvel, Texas. At Pearland (TX), he was a three-year starter at running back and also played linebacker. He received All-American honors as a senior. He began his college career at Henderson County Junior College, where he was a Junior College All-American and an All-conference linebacker in 1976.
