Jeff Rimer
Jeff Rimer (born July 18, 1951) is a Canadian-born American broadcaster who serves the television play-by-play announcer for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League. Rimer began his broadcasting career in Calgary with Cable 10 and CFAC Radio. While at CFAC, he served as the play-by-play man for the Calgary Centennials of the Western Hockey League. After a stint in Lethbridge, Rimer worked for CBC Television in Edmonton under veteran sportscaster Ernie Afaganis. He then worked for CFCF Radio, where he was the pre- and post-game show host for the Montreal Canadiens. He was also CBC's gymnastics commentator during the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. In 1984 he was involved in a scuffle with Pete Rose over something Rose contended Rimer said about him on his radio program. WBAL (AM)
WBAL (1090 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Baltimore, Maryland, and owned by the broadcasting division of Hearst Communications. Airing a news/ talk radio format, WBAL broadcasts on a Class A clear-channel frequency, with 50,000 watts from a transmitter facility in Randallstown, Maryland. Listeners in and around Baltimore can also hear the station on FM translator station W268BA at 101.5 MHz. The station shares its studios and offices with sister stations WBAL-TV (channel 11) and WIYY (97.9 FM) on Television Hill in Baltimore's Woodberry neighborhood. WBAL and WIYY are the only two radio stations owned by Hearst, which is primarily a publishing and television company. Doug MacLean
James Douglas MacLean (born April 12, 1954) is a Canadian sportscaster working for Rogers Media's Sportsnet and former ice hockey coach and general manager. He is the former president/general manager and head coach of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets and was also the head coach of the Florida Panthers. He is affectionately known as "Prince Eddy" due to his affinity to Prince Edward Island. Career MacLean began coaching at the University of New Brunswick, followed by assistant coach positions with the St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals. MacLean's first professional head coach position came in 1990, when he was sent to the Baltimore Skipjacks, the Capitals' AHL affiliate, as part of a midseason shakeup that placed Skipjacks head coach Terry Murray at the Capitals' helm.
