Jeff Pollack
Jeffrey Ian Pollack (November 15, 1959 – December 23, 2013) was an American film director, screenwriter, television producer and writer. As a film director he directed the films ''Above the Rim'' (1994), ''Booty Call'' (1997) and '' Lost & Found'' (1999). Pollack served as executive consultant on ''The Tyra Banks Show''. He was a frequent collaborator with Benny Medina. He was an alumnus of University of Southern California film school. Career Following graduation from University of Southern California's Film School in the early 1980s, Pollack traveled through Asia both as a tourist and documentarian. After three years on the road — and in the rice fields and jungle— Pollack returned to the U.S., dabbling in real estate development before devoting himself to an entertainment career. Duane Martin
Duane Martin (born August 11, 1965) is an American actor. Early life and education Martin was born in Brooklyn, New York, and he graduated from New York University. He played NCAA Division III basketball at NYU and was signed as an undrafted free agent to a non-guaranteed contract in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the New York Knicks in 1989. However, he was soon cut and never actually played in the NBA. Career Martin first made his TV appearance in the NBC comedy series '' Out All Night'', which also starred Patti LaBelle, Vivica A. A film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the screenplay (or script) while guiding the film crew and actors in the fulfilment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design and all the creative aspects of filmmaking. The film director gives direction to the cast and crew and creates an overall vision through which a film eventually becomes realized or noticed. Spec Script
A spec script, also known as a speculative screenplay, is a non-commissioned and unsolicited screenplay. It is usually written by a screenwriter who hopes to have the script optioned and eventually purchased by a producer, production company, or studio. Spec scripts which have gone on to win Academy Awards include ''Thelma & Louise'' (sold by Callie Khouri to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for US$500,000 in 1990), ''Good Will Hunting'' (sold by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck to Miramax for US$675,000 in 1994) and '' American Beauty'' (sold by Alan Ball to DreamWorks Pictures for US$250,000 in 1998), which all won Best Original Screenplay.
