Jeff Morales
Jeffrey Morales is an American public servant who was the Chief executive officer, CEO of the California High-Speed Rail, California High Speed Rail Authority from May 29, 2012 to June 2, 2017. Early life Morales grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. His father George, a Mexican immigrant, was an anesthesiologist at the George Washington University Hospital and was part of the trauma team that treated and saved President Ronald Reagan after a Attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan, 1981 assassination attempt. After attending Churchill High School in Potomac, Morales enrolled at George Washington University as a biology major. He planned on becoming a marine biologist. 2003 California Gubernatorial Recall Election
The 2003 California gubernatorial recall election was a special election permitted under California state law. It resulted in voters replacing incumbent Democratic Governor Gray Davis with Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger. The recall effort spanned the latter half of 2003. Seven of the nine previous governors, including Davis, had faced unsuccessful recall attempts. After several legal and procedural efforts failed to stop it, California's first-ever gubernatorial recall election was held on October 7, and the results were certified on November 14, 2003, making Davis the first governor recalled in the history of California, and just the second in U.S. history (the first was North Dakota's 1921 recall of Lynn Frazier). FasTrak
FasTrak is the electronic toll collection (ETC) system used in the state of California in the United States. The system is used statewide on all of the toll roads, toll bridges, and high-occupancy toll lanes along the California Freeway and Expressway System. As with other ETC systems, FasTrak is designed to eliminate the need for cars to stop to pay at toll booths, thus decreasing the traffic congestion traditionally associated with toll roads. Joseph Graham "Gray" Davis Jr. (born December 26, 1942) is an American attorney and former politician who served as the 37th governor of California from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, only a few months into his second term, Davis was recalled and removed from office. He is the second state governor in U.S. history to have been recalled.
