Jeff Hayden
Jeffrey D. Hayden (born September 24, 1966) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he represented District 62, which includes portions of south Minneapolis in Hennepin County in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Early life, education, and career Hayden was born in San Francisco. He worked as a staff aide to Minneapolis City Council member Gary Schiff from 2001-2002. He later attended Bethel University, obtaining a B.A. in communication studies. Minnesota House of Representatives Hayden was first elected in 2008, opting to run after incumbent Rep. Neva Walker decided not to seek re-election. He was re-elected in 2010. Linda Berglin
Linda Lee Berglin (born October 19, 1944) is a Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate who represented District 61, which includes portions of the city of Minneapolis in Hennepin County, which is in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. A Democrat, she was first elected to the Senate in 1980, and was re-elected in each election until she resigned on August 15, 2011, to take a position with Hennepin County. Prior to the 1982 and 1992 redistricting, the area was known as District 59 and District 60, respectively. Minneapolis City Council
The Minneapolis City Council is the lawmaking body of Minneapolis. It consists of 13 members, elected from separate wards to four-year terms, via a ranked-choice method. The council structure has been in place since the 1950s. In recent elections, council membership has been dominated by the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL). As of 2022, 12 members identified with the DFL, while one identified with Democratic Socialists of America. Until the 2021 Minneapolis City Council election, the city's government structure was considered a Weak mayor, weak-mayor, strong-council system. The Powderhorn Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States (part of the larger Powderhorn community) is located approximately three miles south of downtown and is bordered by East Lake Street to the north, Cedar Avenue to the east, East 38th Street to the south, and Chicago Avenue to the west. Bryant is a neighborhood within the Powderhorn community in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Its boundaries are East 38th Street to the north, Chicago Avenue to the east, East 42nd Street to the south, and Interstate 35W to the west. The neighborhood was named for William Cullen Bryant, an American poet who lived from 1794 to 1878. The City of Minneapolis incorporated the neighborhood in 1887, and by 1930 it was fully developed.
