Jeff Abraham is an American publicist, comedy historian and author. His book, '' The Show Won't Go On: The Most Shocking, Bizarre, and Historic Deaths of Performers Onstage'', was written with Burt Kearns, and published on September 3, 2019, by Chicago Review Press. Career As a publicist, Abraham has represented many comedy projects and comedians, including George Carlin and David Brenner. He has been a research consultant to authors and documentarians, and his Abraham Comedy Archives, a voluminous comedy album collection, has been a resource to writers and filmmakers alike. Ritz Brothers
The Ritz Brothers were an American family comedy act who performed extensively on stage, in nightclubs and in films from 1925 to the late 1960s. A fourth brother, George, acted as their manager. Early life The four brothers were born to Austrian-born Jewish haberdasher Max Joachim and his wife Pauline, only three of them performed together. They also had a sister Gertrude. All three brothers were born in Newark, New Jersey. The family name was Joachim (pronounced "jo-ACK-him", Harry explained on a Joe Franklin TV interview), but the eldest brother Al, a vaudeville dancer, adopted a new professional name after he saw the name "Ritz" on the side of a laundry truck.
