Jedediah K. Smith
Jedediah Kilburn Smith (November 7, 1770 – December 17, 1828) was a U.S. Representative from New Hampshire. Born in Amherst, New Hampshire, Smith completed preparatory studies, then studied law. He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice at Amherst in 1800. He served as member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1803, and served as member of the New Hampshire Senate, 1804–1806 and 1809. Smith was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Tenth Congress (March 4, 1807 – March 3, 1809). Nathaniel Appleton Haven
Nathaniel Appleton Haven (July 19, 1762 – March 13, 1831) was an American politician, a physician, and served as a U.S. Representative from New Hampshire. Early life Haven was born in Portsmouth in the Province of New Hampshire. He attended Phillips Exeter Academy, where he graduated in 1807 with distinctions. He then pursued classical studies, was educated by the Reverend Dr. Nathaniel Appleton, and graduated in medicine from Harvard College in 1779. Career Haven practiced his profession in Portsmouth and also engaged in mercantile pursuits, and was editor of the Portsmouth Journal until 1825. Serving as a ship's surgeon in the latter part of the Revolutionary War, Haven was captured by the British and was a prisoner of war aboard the Jersey prison ship at New York for a short time. David Hough (March 13, 1753 – April 18, 1831) was an American politician, a farmer, and a United States Representative from New Hampshire. Early life Born in Norwich in the Connecticut Colony, Hough attended the common schools and worked for a while as a ship carpenter. Career Hough moved to Lebanon, Grafton County, New Hampshire, in 1778, and served as member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 1788, 1789, and 1794. He was also a Justice of the Peace and a colonel of the militia. He served as delegate to the State constitutional convention in 1783 and was a commissioner of valuation in 1798. Elected as a Federalist to the Eighth and Ninth Congresses, Hough served as United States Representative for the state of New Hampshire from (March 4, 1803 – March 3, 1807).
