Jeanne Kohl-Welles
Jeanne Elizabeth Pearl Kohl-Welles (née Jean Elizabeth Pearl Kohl; October 19, 1942) is an American politician and academic. Since January 2016 she has served as a member of the King County Council from the 4th district. She previously served as a member of the Washington State Senate from 1994 to 2015 and the Washington House of Representatives from 1992 to 1994. Early life and education Kohl-Welles was born in Madison, Wisconsin. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in education from the California State University, Northridge, followed by a Master of Arts and PhD in sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Career Kohl-Welles was a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has also worked as a lecturer at Chapman College; University of California, Irvine; California State University, Long Beach; and California State University, Fullerton. The Metropolitan King County Council, the legislative body of King County, Washington, consists of nine members elected by district. The Council adopts laws, sets policy, and holds final approval over the budget. Queen Anne is a neighborhood and geographic feature in Seattle, Washington, United States, located northwest of downtown. The affluent neighborhood sits on the eponymous hill, whose maximum elevation is , making it Seattle's highest named hill. Queen Anne covers an area of , and has a population of about 28,000. Magnolia, Seattle
Magnolia is the second largest neighborhood of Seattle, Washington by area. It occupies a hilly peninsula northwest of downtown. Magnolia has been a part of the city since 1891. A good portion of the peninsula is taken up by Discovery Park, formerly the U.S. Army's Fort Lawton. Greenwood is a neighborhood in north central Seattle, Washington, United States. The intersection of Greenwood Avenue North and North 85th Street is the commercial center. Greenwood is known for its numerous bars, restaurants, coffee houses, theatres and specialty stores. Greenwood's main thoroughfares are Greenwood Avenue North and North 80th and 85th streets. Title IX
Title IX is the most commonly used name for the federal civil rights law in the United States that was enacted as part (Title IX) of the Education Amendments of 1972. It prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program that receives funding from the Federal government of the United States, federal government.
