Jeanne Bates
Jeanne Bates (May 21, 1918 – November 28, 2007) was a retired American radio, film and television actress. After performing in radio serials, she signed a contract with Columbia Pictures in 1942 which began her career in films both in bit parts and larger roles in a series of horror films and noirs, including ''The Return of the Vampire'' (1943) and ''Shadows in the Night'' (1946). In her later career, Bates would collaborate with David Lynch on his films ''Eraserhead'' (1977) and ''Mulholland Drive'' (2001), the latter of which was her last film credit before her death in 2007. Career Bates was born in Berkeley, California in 1918. She began her acting career while attending San Mateo Junior College, with roles on radio soap operas produced in San Francisco. Bates had the lead role, and supplied the signature scream, on the radio mystery series ''Whodunit''. Following the war, the show was revived under the name "Murder Will Out." ''The Phantom'' is a 1943 15-chapter cliffhanger superhero serial, produced by Rudolph C. Flothow, directed B. Reeves Eason, and starring Tom Tyler in the title role. It is based on Lee Falk's comic strip ''The Phantom'', first syndicated to newspapers in 1936 by King Features Syndicate. The serial also features Jeanne Bates as the Phantom's girlfriend Diana Palmer, and Ace the Wonder Dog as the Phantom's trusty German shepherd Devil (who is a wolf in the original comic strip). ''Buckskin'' is an American Western television series starring Tom Nolan, Sally Brophy, and Mike Road. The series aired on the NBC network from July 3, 1958, until May 25, 1959, followed by summer reruns in 1959 and again in 1965. Synopsis The show depicts life in fictitious Buckskin, Montana, in the 1880s, as seen through the eyes of 10-year-old Jody O'Connell, played by Nolan. The Range Rider
''The Range Rider'' is an American Western television series that was first broadcast in syndication from 1951 to 1953. A single lost episode surfaced and was broadcast in 1959. ''The Range Rider'' was also broadcast on British television during the 1960s, and in Melbourne, Australia, during the 1950s. Synopsis Jock Mahoney, later star of CBS's ''Yancy Derringer'', played the title character in 79 black-and-white half-hour episodes, along with partner Dick West, played by Dick Jones, later star of the syndicated series '' Buffalo Bill, Jr.'' The character had no name other than Range Rider. His reputation for fairness, fighting ability, and accuracy with his guns was known far and wide, even by Indians.
