Jean Robiquet
Jean Robiquet (6 July 1874 – 26 March 1960) was a French art historian, art critic and curator. He was also a playwright and opérettes librettist known under the pseudonym Jean Roby. Biography Attached to the Musée Carnavalet in 1897, he became assistant curator in 1904, then chief curator from 1919 to his retirement in 1934. From that date, he set up the organization of the of which he was the custodian up to 1940. He was also responsible for organizing numerous exhibitions in Sceaux, Bagatelle, in the Orangerie as well as in Carnavalet. In addition to his publications, he contributed to several magazines and newspapers. He was made an officer of the Legion of Honour. Meudon
Meudon () is a municipality in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is in the département of Hauts-de-Seine. It is located from the center of Paris. The city is known for many historic monuments and some extraordinary trees. One of them, the Imperial Cedar (), attracted the attention of Empress Eugénie and Queen Victoria. As of March 2021, the tree is in good condition, but it is threatened by real estate speculation. Another real estate project is planned for the historic park of the Napoleon III villa built by Charles Schacher. Both projects are controversial and have aroused local opposition. Geography The town of Meudon is built on the hills and valleys of the Seine. The wood of Meudon lies for the most part to the west of the town. Arsène Alexandre
Arsène Alexandre (16 August 1859, Paris – 1 October 1937, Brain sur Allonnes) was a French art critic. He was a contributor to ''L'Événement'', ''Le Paris'' and ''L'Éclair'' and in 1894 was one of the founders of the satirical journal ''Le Rire'', becoming its artistic director. He was later art critic for ''Le Figaro''. Alexandre and Félix Fénéon were the first to use the term ' pointillism', in 1886, and Alexandre alone coined the term 'the Rouen School', in 1902 in a catalogue to an exhibition of the work of Joseph Delattre at the galerie Durand-Ruel à Paris. He also wrote several articles for ''Le Théâtre'', notably 'Le Théâtre au Salon' in June 1898 and several theatre reviews. He was Inspecteur Général des Musées during the First World War. Who's Who In France
''Who's Who in France'' is a biographical dictionary published in France and written in French. In France it is simply "le ''Who's Who''". History The first edition of ''Who's Who in France'' was published in 1953 by Jacques Lafitte. In 1974, Marie-Thérèse Lafitte succeeded her husband after his death. In 1984 the company was bought by Antoine Hébrard. At the beginning of the new millennium, a special book was written by Béatrice and Michel Wattel about the deceased people who were in ''Who's Who in France'' during their lifetime. The second edition (2005, printed in 2004) is published with the title ''Qui était qui, XXe siècle'' (Who was Who, Twentieth Century). The first photographs (in black and white) appeared (after about 50 years) on paper in the 36th edition for 2005, printed in 2004. Louis Morin (painter)
Louis George Morin (18 February 1922 – 3 May 2003) was an American chemist and inventor. Biography Morin was born in Saint-Paul-de-Montminy, Quebec and immigrated to the United States as a child. He began experimenting with the use of crystals in radio transmitter design while serving in the U.S. Army during the Second World War and later operated several commercial electroplating facilities in Westchester County, New York. In 1969, Morin produced the gold-plated mesh used on the Apollo Lunar Module’s erectable S-band antenna. He held numerous patents in the field of electrochemistry and developed a number of original methods for the electroplating of non-metallic filaments. In 1980, Morin used the latter methods to produce the dielectric composite in the stealth technology airframe of the B-2 Spirit.
