That particular book brought Messinger notoriety because it was revealed later after the book's publication that the subject of the book, Rosemarie Pence Rosemarie Pence (formerly Hannah Pence; born 1938) is a German-American woman who posed as a child Holocaust survivor from the Dachau Concentration Camp.
